The Shattered Coast map reshuffled almost every familiar landing spot after the Zero Point cracked open the Island, and your first decision each match is still where to drop. Some points of interest hide boss NPCs guarding mythic weapons. Others contain vaults stuffed with rare chests and Sprites. A few are simply quiet, well-stocked starts that let you gear up without a fight. Here are the landing spots worth prioritizing right now.
Quick answer: Drop at Calamari Canyon (northeast, near the grey containers) for two boss mythics in one run, Heatwave Harbor for Voidblade’s Burst Rifle, or Frosted Flats and Sinister Strip for vault loot and a safer start.
Loot balance across named POIs this season
Loot is spread fairly evenly across the named POIs, so there isn’t a single broken spot that outclasses everything else. What separates the best drops is the extras sitting on top of normal floor and chest loot, namely boss NPCs holding mythics and vaults that need a keycard. If you know where those are, you can convert a regular landing into a strong start.

Frosted Flats: Sprite Vault and clean layout
Frosted Flats is one of the strongest drops on the map. The loot is reliable, and the open layout lets you reposition without getting boxed in during the opening minutes.
The standout is the vault in the south building. You need an Epic Sprite Vault Keycard to open it, and inside you get rare chests carrying different weapon types along with various Sprites. Cracking it before anyone else arrives can set the tone for the whole match.
The trade-off is traffic. Frosted Flats fills up quickly, so land fast and commit to a plan rather than floating in undecided.

Sinister Strip: Mythic Seven Sliders vault
Sinister Strip suits a slower, methodical opening. Floor loot is solid throughout, and the vault here can hand you the Mythic Seven Sliders, the headline rotation item of the season.
Seven Sliders cover a huge amount of ground fast. You can ride them over water and rough terrain, and you can still build while using them. The mythic version never runs out of charges, so you can keep moving whenever you need to reposition. Open this vault and your late-game rotations become far easier to manage.
You can also find two NPCs in the area, Vanguard Slone and The Singularity.

Calamari Canyon: Two boss mythics in one drop
This is the spot most players overlook early, which works in your favor for now. On the northeast side of Calamari Canyon near the grey containers, two boss NPCs spawn close together, so a single drop can net you two mythic weapons.
| Boss | Mythic drop |
|---|---|
| Wolfe | Maven Auto Shotgun |
| Skeletor | Reacher Extending Shotgun |
The Reacher Extending Shotgun from Skeletor is the more interesting pickup. It reaches farther than a standard shotgun, giving you an edge in fights that aren’t point-blank. The Maven Auto Shotgun from Wolfe fires fast and hits hard, so grabbing both early puts you in a commanding position heading into mid-game.
John Wick, a heavy specialist, also appears here. Recruit him before you engage the bosses so you have extra firepower on your side during the fights. Expect this drop to get busier as players catch on, so use the quiet window while it lasts.

Heatwave Harbor: Voidblade’s Burst Rifle
Head to the northeast side of Heatwave Harbor near the yellow containers to find the Voidblade boss NPC. Beat her and she drops the Voidblade’s Burst Rifle, one of the stronger mythics in the pool right now. The burst-fire pattern keeps your aim tight, and the mythic version outdamages anything you’ll pull from a regular chest.
The rest of Heatwave Harbor carries decent loot too, so even if someone reaches the boss before you, you won’t leave empty-handed.

Lifty Lodge: Quiet edge drop with water routes
Lifty Lodge sits on the edge of the map, which is exactly the appeal. It offers a quiet landing with easy access to water-side paths, so you can use Seven Sliders to travel along the outer ring and skip the crowded center. If you prefer playing it safe and choosing your fights, this is a dependable pick.

Which drop to choose
The right landing spot is the one where you can gear up without getting wiped on contact. If mythics are your goal, go to Calamari Canyon for the double-boss play or Heatwave Harbor for the Burst Rifle. If you want a safe start with strong loot, Frosted Flats and Sinister Strip are the better calls thanks to their vaults. Try a few drops, see which rhythm fits your style, and adjust from there.
