The Anubis event in Grow a Garden, the Roblox gardening game, adds five new pets. Four hatch from the Anubis Egg, and one comes only from the Anubis Coin Shop. They differ a lot. One pet can multiply a plant’s fruit value by 25, and another only works during one weather type. Every ability gets stronger as the pet levels up. All ability values below are written as “at the start -> at most.”
Quick answer: Ancient Sphinx is the best Anubis event pet. Hiero Scorpion and Bennu follow in A tier, Apshait sits in B, and Uraeus ranks last in C.

How the tiers are set: each pet is placed by the size of its ability effect, how often it triggers, what it needs to work, and what it takes away from your garden or other pets. The ranking reflects Anubis Event – Part 1 (v466).
S tier: Ancient Sphinx

Ancient Sphinx is the only Anubis pet with two abilities, and both are strong. Ancient Guardian pushes 3 -> 6 plants forward by 12 hours and gives all of their fruit Mirage. Mirage is a x25 value mutation, which is the largest multiplier any of these pets can hand out.
Ancient Protector works on your team instead. It resets the cooldowns of 3 -> 6 pets and gives them 15,000 -> 30,000 XP each time it fires. So the Sphinx speeds up your other pets’ abilities and levels them up at the same time.
Ancient Guardian takes out 3 Rare or Legendary plants whenever it activates, while Ancient Protector subtracts 3 age from pets. Plants bearing favorited fruit are spared, so favorite the fruit on every Rare or Legendary plant you want to save.

Hiero Scorpion is the best pick for levelling new pets quickly. Its ability, Hiero Sting, targets your lowest-level pet and gives it 40% -> 80% XP. It also has a 4% -> 8% chance to give that pet the Hiero Venom pet mutation.
Hiero Venom gives the mutated pet a “BIG boost to passive”. The trade-off is that it drains XP every second from all of your other pets. That cost is the reason the Scorpion stays out of S tier, even though it is the only Prismatic pet in the event. It is also the most expensive pet to get, since it is sold only in the Anubis Coin Shop.
Bennu’s Bird of Creation consumes one Rot, Blight, or Pestilent fruit. With each activation, there’s a 15% -> 30% chance of a random effect: Gilded (x15 value), 10 -> 20 minutes shaved off an egg’s hatch time, or a pet aging up. Among higher-tier pets, its cooldown is the shortest, so the ability can benefit fruit value, eggs, and pets alike.
Bennu’s ability depends on having Rot, Blight, or Pestilent fruit available to consume.
B tier: Apshait

Apshait is the Anubis pet you’re most likely to hatch, and its Corpse Scarab activates much more frequently than the abilities of other Anubis pets. It consumes a fruit, with a 10% -> 20% chance of giving it Sandy (x3) or Pestilent (x8). Since both multipliers are modest beside Mirage or Gilded, Apshait stays in B tier.
Apshait works best alongside Bennu. The Pestilent fruit Apshait creates is one of the fruit types Bennu feeds on, so the pair can keep Bird of Creation supplied.
Corpse Scarab eats fruit but skips favorited fruit, so favorite anything you want to keep.
C tier: Uraeus

Uraeus has the most limited ability among the five. The Risen Asp functions only in sandstorm weather. If a fruit receives Hieroglyphic (x3), there is a 4% -> 8% chance the effect will also reach another random fruit. This can occur no more than three times during a weather event. The benefit is small and event-bound, leaving Uraeus in last place.
How to get the Anubis event pets
Four of the pets come from the Anubis Egg, a Mythical egg with a 4-hour hatch. The odds favor the lower tiers heavily, so expect several Apshait and Uraeus before a Bennu or Ancient Sphinx.

There are two ways to get the egg. You can buy it from the Anubis Coin Shop for 3,000 Anubis Coins once you have done 6 excavations. You can also earn it from Ancient Archeology finds 5, 8, 12 and 19, with find 19 giving 2 eggs.
Hiero Scorpion does not hatch from any egg. It is sold only in the Anubis Coin Shop for 13,500 Anubis Coins, and it unlocks after 15 excavations.
Earning Anubis Coins
If you are chasing the top pick, every Anubis Egg is another chance at Ancient Sphinx. If you need to level new pets, saving coins for Hiero Scorpion is the more direct route.
