MECCHA CHAMELEON is a multiplayer hide-and-seek game where Hiders paint their plain white bodies to match the stage and disappear in plain sight. Instead of ducking behind objects, you become part of the scenery by coloring yourself, picking a pose, and choosing the right spot. Seekers then have to spot the difference before the timer runs out.

Quick answer: Join or host a match, get assigned to the Hider or Seeker team, and as a Hider paint your white body to blend into the environment while Seekers try to find everyone before time expires. Seekers win if they locate all Hiders in the time limit.

How a round of MECCHA CHAMELEON plays out

The core loop is simple. Players are split into two teams, Seekers and Hiders. The Seeker side has a set amount of time to track down every Hider on the map, and they win the round only if they find them all before the clock hits zero. If even one Hider stays unspotted, the timer favors the hiding team.

What sets it apart from standard hide-and-seek is the disguise method. Hiders start with a pure white model and use paint to color themselves so they look like part of the stage. Three things decide whether you survive. The spot you pick, the pose you strike, and your actual painting skill. A clean color match against a busy wall or a cluttered shelf can make a Hider almost invisible.

Painting and camouflage mechanic

The painting system is the whole point of the game. As a Hider, you treat your body like a canvas and apply colors that mimic the surface or object you want to imitate. The closer your paint job matches the texture and color of the surroundings, the harder you are to detect.

Posing works alongside the paint. Freezing in a shape that fits the scene, such as flattening against a wall or mimicking an object, reinforces the disguise. The result rewards creativity and a good eye for color far more than raw speed, so two Hiders in the same corner can have very different odds of being caught depending on how convincingly they paint and pose.

Multiplayer, matches, and streaming

You can play with friends or with strangers. If a host creates a server that is not set to private, anyone can join freely, which makes public matches easy to find. A recommended group size is 2 to 10 players, though the maximum depends on the host’s network, and that number may shift as the game is tested further.

The game is built with streamers in mind. Hosts can run viewer-participation games so an audience can drop in and play. Gameplay videos and streams are welcome, with the developer asking creators to include the game’s name in the video title and, optionally, the Steam store page link in the description.

Roblox versions inspired by MECCHA CHAMELEON

The paint-to-blend concept has already spread to Roblox, where several free experiences credit MECCHA CHAMELEON as their inspiration. They keep the same idea of randomly assigning Hiders and Seekers each round, then letting Hiders paint themselves and pose to match the map while Seekers hunt them down.

Whether you play the original on PC or one of the Roblox takes, the winning strategy is the same. Match your color to the surface, hold a believable pose, and pick a spot busy enough that a hurried Seeker scrolls right past you.
