The Forge hides a surprisingly strong progression system inside its Achievements tab. Every major in-game activity—mining, crafting, fighting, upgrading—feeds an achievement that doubles as a passive skill. Level those achievements and you unlock permanent stat boosts, then pick one skill to equip as a passive bonus at any given time.
This breakdown covers what each skill does, how to level it efficiently, and which playstyle it naturally fits.
How skills and achievements work in The Forge
Skills in The Forge are passive modifiers tied directly to achievements. Each skill:
- Has exactly 5 levels.
- Levels up by repeating a specific action (for example, forging weapons or mining rocks).
- Gives a cumulative stat bonus that increases with each level.
- Must be equipped to take effect.
You can only equip one skill at a time, so the “right” one is whatever best supports what you are doing right now—farming ores, grinding levels, clearing dungeons, or hunting better gear.

You can change skills freely, so it is common to swap between a mining-focused skill while gathering, then a combat or XP skill when you move into combat-heavy areas.

Two more skills, Boss Hunter and Explorer, exist in the game data but currently cannot be obtained or leveled in normal play.
Weapon Smith (Attack Speed)
Weapon Smith is the game’s attack-speed passive. Equipping it makes every swing and combo land faster, which indirectly boosts damage over time and makes combat feel more responsive.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +4% Attack Speed |
| 2 | +8% Attack Speed |
| 3 | +12% Attack Speed |
| 4 | +16% Attack Speed |
| 5 | +20% Attack Speed |
How to level Weapon Smith
Weapon Smith levels by forging weapons at the forge.
With enough low-cost crafts, the skill reaches level 5, granting the full +20% attack speed bonus when equipped.

Monster Slayer (Stamina)
Monster Slayer raises your maximum stamina, which directly affects how long you can sprint, dodge, and use stamina-based abilities before running out.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +8% Stamina |
| 2 | +16% Stamina |
| 3 | +24% Stamina |
| 4 | +32% Stamina |
| 5 | +40% Stamina |
How to level Monster Slayer
Monster Slayer levels through kills on regular mobs.
As stamina climbs, extended sprinting and frequent dodging become much easier, especially in large dungeons or open-world runs.

Master Miner (Mine Power)
Master Miner increases Mine Power, which determines how quickly you break rocks and how efficiently you extract ores. For mining-heavy sessions, this is often the most important skill.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +5% Mine Power |
| 2 | +10% Mine Power |
| 3 | +15% Mine Power |
| 4 | +20% Mine Power |
| 5 | +25% Mine Power |
How to level Master Miner
Master Miner increases by mining rocks and collecting ores.
The full 25% Mine Power bonus makes high-health rocks break noticeably faster and helps you clear dense caves much more efficiently.

Armor Smith (Max Health)
Armor Smith boosts maximum HP. It is especially valuable for tankier builds or content where survival is more important than raw damage.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +5% Max Health |
| 2 | +10% Max Health |
| 3 | +15% Max Health |
| 4 | +20% Max Health |
| 5 | +25% Max Health |
How to level Armor Smith
Armor Smith grows by forging armor pieces.
Once maxed, Armor Smith’s 25% HP increase is a strong defensive boost for harder encounters.

Experience Master (XP Multiplier)
Experience Master is the leveling accelerator. It multiplies the XP you earn, letting you climb character levels faster when it is equipped.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +6% XP Multiplier |
| 2 | +12% XP Multiplier |
| 3 | +18% XP Multiplier |
| 4 | +24% XP Multiplier |
| 5 | +30% XP Multiplier |
How to level Experience Master
Experience Master levels alongside your character level.
The 30% XP boost at level 5 makes long-term progression meaningfully faster, especially across alt characters or late-game levels.

Rune Master (Critical Chance)
Rune Master increases your chance to land critical hits. It synergizes well with high-damage weapons and offensive builds.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +7% Critical Chance |
| 2 | +14% Critical Chance |
| 3 | +21% Critical Chance |
| 4 | +28% Critical Chance |
| 5 | +35% Critical Chance |
How to level Rune Master
Rune Master progresses by applying runes to your gear.
At max level, +35% critical chance is a large increase, especially when paired with traits or builds designed around crit damage.
Dedicated Player (Luck)
Dedicated Player is the long-haul achievement. It passively raises Luck based on your total time played, improving drop quality and other luck-based outcomes across the game.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +8% Luck |
| 2 | +16% Luck |
| 3 | +24% Luck |
| 4 | +32% Luck |
| 5 | +40% Luck |
How to level Dedicated Player
This skill increases only with playtime.
Once fully leveled, the +40% Luck boost becomes one of the strongest utility passives for resource and loot farming.
Upgrade Master (Critical Chance from enhancing)
Upgrade Master mirrors Rune Master’s stat effect, offering a separate way to reach the same +35% critical chance cap. Instead of runes, it tracks how often you enhance weapons and armor.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +7% Critical Chance |
| 2 | +14% Critical Chance |
| 3 | +21% Critical Chance |
| 4 | +28% Critical Chance |
| 5 | +35% Critical Chance |
How to level Upgrade Master
Upgrade Master grows with each successful enhancement.
Maximum Upgrade Master, combined with strong gear and traits, can push crit-focused builds to very high reliability.

Unobtainable skills: Boss Hunter and Explorer
Two other skills are present in the game but are currently not accessible to regular players:
- Boss Hunter – designed around boss kills, with a damage boost when equipped.
- Explorer – linked to exploring or unlocking areas, with a movement speed bonus when equipped.
They appear in the skill list but do not yet have an active method for unlocking or leveling them. If they become obtainable in a future update, expect them to follow the same pattern: 5 levels, each tied to a clear in-game action (boss kills or area unlocks) and a permanent passive bonus when equipped.
The core loop of The Forge’s achievement system is simple: pick an activity, equip the skill tied to it, and grind the relevant action until both your character and the achievement rank up. Because you can only run one passive at a time, swapping skills around your current goal—mining, leveling, farming rare drops, or pushing combat—is where most of the strategy lives. Once the key skills are maxed, even routine runs through familiar caves feel noticeably faster and more rewarding.
