Lost Castle 2 carries a hefty 85-achievement list for a game that wears its indie roots so openly. A chunk of them tick over on their own as you play, but the rest demand deliberate boss runs, full clears with specific weapons, and a push deep into the game’s endgame modes. Several are hidden until they pop, so you won’t see their names in your tracker beforehand.
Quick answer: Unlock everything by progressing through Black Forest, Ruined Cemetery, Crystal Mountain, the Castle Bridge, and Black Castle to clear every boss, finishing a full successful run with each weapon type, hitting the 20/50/100/200 treasure and weapon collection tiers, and reaching Ethereal Nightmare mode to chase Soul Inscriptions, Soul Seals, and memory fragments.

Story and progression achievements that unlock as you play
These trigger from natural events in your runs, so most need no extra grinding. The first one fires the moment your tutorial run ends and you land in camp. The endgame story beats, like saving Nia, come once you’ve pushed into Black Castle.
| Achievement | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Adventure Begins | Die in the tutorial run and get sent to camp for the first time. |
| Open The Gate | Reach the Black Castle gate and watch the Castle Bridge approach cutscene. |
| Amnesiac Girl (Save Nia) | Nia arrives at the Treasure Hunter’s camp, usually after you reach Black Castle or defeat Steward. |
| Castle Bus | Complete a full run on Normal difficulty, the default setting. |
| Party Adventure (Team adventure) | Start a run in online multiplayer with a friend. |

Each boss grants its own achievement, but the catch is that not every boss appears on every run. Bosses rotate, so getting the right one to spawn is often harder than the fight itself. Defeat the boss fully, including both phases where they exist, and progress past it to bank the unlock.
| Achievement | Boss and location |
|---|---|
| Courtyard Cleansing | Mad Gardener, Black Forest (clear both phases). |
| Brother, Hold On | Goblin Champion, Black Forest. |
| Wrath of the Black Forest | Forest Guardian, Black Forest. |
| Death Duel on the Bridge | Wandering Knight, Castle Bridge (horseback phase, then sword phase). |
| Dreadful Mutation | Mutated Priest, Ruined Cemetery. |
| Duel | The Last Guardian, Ruined Cemetery. |
| Twin Fiends of the Ruined Village | “Alchemist” Eugene and “Mad Dog” Bobby, Ruined Cemetery. |
| Behold My Iron Muscles | Behemoth, Crystal Mountain. |
| Calming The Rage | Angry Thunder Spirit, Crystal Mountain. |
| Dragon’s Lair | Crystal Devourer, Crystal Mountain. |
| Demon Shadow | Steward the Demon Sealer, Black Castle (final boss, then the Demon Lord phase). |
A few notes that make these smoother. The Goblin Champion is one of the simplest fights once you learn its thump-then-leap-then-charge rhythm, so the only real obstacle is getting it to appear. The Mad Gardener heals back to full after its first phase, so save your burst damage for the moment it wilts and stops moving. In the twin fight, take down “Alchemist” Eugene first, since killing “Mad Dog” Bobby first sends the Alchemist sprinting around the arena flinging potions.
Note: Defeating Steward and the following Demon Lord phase ends your run automatically and counts as your first clear, which is the gateway to the game’s endgame achievements.

Weapon-type run achievements
This is the most demanding batch, because each one requires a full successful adventure using a single weapon class start to finish. There’s one achievement for every weapon type in the game, plus the Katana from later content. You can narrow your drops to make these runs easier by speaking to Serena the Blacksmith in camp and limiting which weapon types appear during your adventure.
| Achievement | Weapon required |
|---|---|
| Archmage | Staff |
| Agile Slayer | Dual-Blades |
| Ranger Hunter | Bow |
| Heavy Sword Warrior | Two-handed weapons |
| Shadow Master | Phantom Lantern |
| Shield Hero | Single-handed weapon |
| Musketeer | Musket |
| Steam Demolitionist | Turbo Lance |
| Blademaster | Katana |
Treasure and weapon collection milestones
Collection counts accumulate across all of your runs, not within a single one, so these unlock steadily as long as you pick up and record everything you find. Treasure tiers come almost passively. Weapon tiers take a bit more attention, so grab and check every new weapon and upgrade frequently to register more variants. Slightly different versions of the same weapon type each count toward the total, so you don’t need to bounce between completely different categories.
| Tier | Treasure achievement | Weapon achievement |
|---|---|---|
| 20 collected | Junior Treasure Collector | Junior Weapon Collector |
| 50 collected | Intermediate Treasure Collector | Intermediate Weapon Collector |
| 100 collected | Senior Treasure Collector | Senior Weapon Collector |
| 200 collected | Top Treasure Collector | Top Weapon Collector |

Exploration route achievements
Two achievements come from opening up optional branching paths. You only need to enter each area once, and after you discover a route it stays available on future runs.
Misty Swamp: During a run you’ll meet a fish creature that grants access to the Mudfish Swamp. The achievement unlocks the first time you take that route.
Ice Maiden: Take either the Mudfish Swamp or the Saltpeter Desert path, then follow the branching route it offers into the Frozen Cave to unlock this one.

Endgame achievements in Ethereal Nightmare mode
The deepest achievements only open up after you beat Steward and the Demon Lord for the first time, which unlocks Ethereal Nightmare mode. Soul-based systems and the harder difficulty depths live here, so none of these can be earned on an initial playthrough.
| Achievement | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Grant Me Power | Collect your first Soul Inscription, available only after unlocking Ethereal Nightmare. |
| Master of All Arts | Unlock 18 Soul Seals, which require at least one completed run and Ethereal Nightmare mode. |
| Novice | Complete a successful run at Depth 1 of Ethereal Nightmare (Nightmare difficulty 1). |
| Seek the Truth | Collect all of Nia’s memory fragments, which finishes after reaching Nightmare 3. Fragments carry over between runs. |

Companion and camp-upgrade achievements
Later content adds a set of recruitable companions, each tied to its own achievement once you bring them along on a winning run. A handful of others reward maxing out camp facilities and pulling off specific build conditions.
| Achievement | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Cold Mage | Recruit Raven as a companion and finish a successful run. |
| Fiery Passion | Recruit Blazeley and finish a successful run. |
| Forest Ranger | Recruit Seren and finish a successful run. |
| Imperial Swordsman | Recruit Shadow and finish a successful run. |
| Northern Pale Rider | Recruit Navarre and finish a successful run. |
| Riverboat Swordsman | Recruit Kasumi and finish a successful run. |
| Equal Exchange | Upgrade the Alchemist’s Hut in camp to its maximum level. |
| Exquisite Craftsmanship | Upgrade the Blacksmith to its maximum level. |
| Unity of Purpose | Upgrade the Expedition Camp to maximum at Armstrong’s. |
| Everything Available | Equip three Alchemy Charms at once and finish a successful run. |
| Plagued Body | Carry five curses and finish a successful run. |
| Dragon Bones Unite | Collect all six Fire Dragon Souls in a single successful run. |
| I Am Legend | Synthesize a legendary treasure in one successful run. |
| War Soul Recast | Activate the full resonance of one Soul Seal. |

How to confirm an achievement unlocked
Each one pops with the standard on-screen notification the instant its condition is met, and it then appears in your achievement tracker. Hidden achievements only reveal their name and description after they unlock, so an empty-looking entry beforehand is normal.
If a weapon-run or companion achievement fails to trigger, the run almost certainly didn’t count as a full successful clear, or you swapped to a weapon outside the required type partway through. For boss achievements that won’t unlock, the most common reason is simply that the boss never spawned on that run, since the roster rotates. Keep starting new attempts until the boss you need appears, then finish the fight and move past it.
