Quick answer: Find the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key on a corpse beside an iron grille, on a rocky shelf on the Crimson Forest storehouse cellar’s middle tier. It unlocks the barred gate at the far end of the cave beyond the Thieves’ Camp.
Phantom Blade Zero places this key in Crimson Forest during Chapter 1. It sits inside the storehouse cellar, the area you open with the cellar crank. The Cliffside Lodge bell is the nearest bell to the cellar.
Where the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key is
The key is on the cellar’s middle tier, which also contains the grille chamber with the Secret Chamber Crank and the chest holding a Blackstone Shard.
Look for a stretch of rocky ground above the chain pit. A tall iron grille runs along one side of it, with wooden walkways visible behind the bars. A dead body in a straw hat lies on the ground beside that grille.

The key is on the body lying against the rock beside the grille, beneath the dangling chains. Approach until the “E” prompt appears, then press E to collect the key.

An item card opens to confirm the pickup. It lists the key as a Story Item named “THIEVES’ CAMP DUNGEON KEY”, with the description “A crude iron key with crooked teeth. It should be just enough to open a prison cell door.”

A corridor runs off the ledge and takes you out of the cellar.

Walk up to it until the “E” prompt appears.

Beyond the gate, Soul emerges from the cellar onto a rocky incline in daylight.

Just outside the gate, on your right, a rope ladder hangs against the cliff face, surrounded by red ivy. Move close enough for the “Space” prompt to appear, press Space, and hold W to climb about 20 metres.

At the top, the ladder brings you to a wooden platform scattered with large clay jars, above the misty chasm. Continue along the path to the Cliffside Lodge plateau, where you’ll find the lodge houses and a gate with a red lantern.

What the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key opens
The key opens the barred wooden gate at the far end of a cave that branches off a corner of the Thieves’ Camp.
If you press E at the gate without carrying the key, the messages “Key item missing” and “THIEVES’ CAMP DUNGEON KEY * 1” appear.

The key’s item card says it should open a prison cell door. For details about Thieves’ Camp and its cave, visit the Jing Ye page.
