The Fishy Sprite is one of the special Sprites scattered across the Shattered Coast in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and it stands out because it can be pulled straight out of the water. It rewards aggressive movement, making it useful for repositioning during fights and crossing open water faster than usual.

Quick answer: Catch the Fishy Sprite by fishing in golden fishing spots, or grab it as a random drop from regular chests, Sprite Chests, and floor loot, then carry it to an Extraction Site to keep it permanently.

Where to get the Fishy Sprite in Chapter 7 Season 3

There is no single fixed spawn for the Fishy Sprite. It can appear as a random loot drop anywhere on the island, including regular chests, Sprite Chests, floor loot, and similar containers. Because of that, the most reliable approach is simply to open as much loot as you can in every match to raise your overall odds.

What makes this Sprite unique is its second source. The Fishy Sprite is the only special Sprite that can be caught while fishing, and it has the best chance of appearing in golden fishing spots. Other items can come out of those same spots too, so a catch is never guaranteed.

How to fish for the Fishy Sprite

Fishing spots show up as a circle on the water’s surface with fish visibly swimming beneath the waves. Near most of them you’ll find a barrel containing fishing equipment.

Loot the barrel beside a fishing spot to pick up a fishing rod. It equips and works like any weapon.
Aim at the rippling circle and cast your line into the precise spot where the fish are moving.
Prioritize fishing spots that glow gold. These golden spots carry Legendary loot and give you the best shot at reeling in the Fishy Sprite, along with rare variants of other Sprites.

Golden fishing spots can appear at any fishable location around the island, so check the water as you move and grab a rod whenever one is nearby.

What the Fishy Sprite does and its variants

When equipped, the Fishy Sprite increases your swimming speed and gives you a short movement speed boost whenever you take damage. That combination is helpful for escaping a fight, closing distance, or crossing water without slowing your run.

It also comes in rarer variants that keep the base swim and movement effect while stacking on an extra bonus. Equipping a rarer version raises your risk, since other players can spot a valuable Sprite on your back and chase you for it.

How to extract and keep the Fishy Sprite

Finding the Fishy Sprite is only half the job. To add it to your permanent collection, you have to extract it during the match. Until you do, it stays at risk of being lost if you’re eliminated.

With the Fishy Sprite equipped, head to the nearest Extraction Site marked on the map.
Interact with the Extraction Site terminal to call down an extraction crate, then submit your equipped Sprite.
If you’d rather not travel, use a Portable Extractor to extract the Sprite from anywhere on the island. This is the safest play for a rare variant you don’t want to lose.

Once the extraction completes, the Fishy Sprite is unlocked for good. You can summon it back at the start of any future match using Sprite Dust, which you also earn from each extraction. With a rare variant in particular, extracting as early as possible is the smart move, since it removes the chance of losing it to another player.

From there, you can keep building out your collection. The Striker Sprite, earned from chests or by scoring a goal at the new soccer pitch, makes a natural next target if you want more mobility-focused options on your back.
