The Skill Tree added in the eighth update of Build a Ring Farm is a stacking bonus system that raises crop sell value, seed luck, pet earnings, and growth speed. It splits into two paths, Farm and Player, and you build both simply by playing. Many players walk right past it because the requirement to open it is easy to miss.
Quick answer: Unlock Floor 3, then click the Huge Tree that appears in the open area in front of your plot to open the Skill Tree interface.
Unlock the Skill Tree by reaching Floor 3
There is only one gate. You must unlock Floor 3 before the Skill Tree becomes available. Once Floor 3 is active, a Huge Tree appears in the space directly in front of your plot. Click it to open the interface.

You know it worked when the tree is clickable and the Skill Tree window opens with the Farm and Player tabs visible. If the tree is not there, Floor 3 has not been unlocked yet.
Farm skill levels and rewards
Farm skills focus on what your land produces. Every objective ties to crops, harvesting, weather, or composting, so these levels matter most if your goal is larger income from the plot itself.
| Level | Objective | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Weather Watcher | Attend 10 weather events | +3% weather mutated crop sell value |
| Growing Roots | Harvest 5,000 crops on Floor 3+ | +1.5% farm earnings |
| Ring Tiller | Harvest 35,000 crops on Floor 3+ and earn 100Q from harvested plants | +2.5% crop sell value |
| Rich Soil | Compost 10 times | +5% composter reward luck |
Player skill levels and rewards
Player skills reward activity outside pure farming. Contracts, pets, and event participation each push these levels forward, so you are already making progress whenever you join an event or hatch an egg.

| Level | Objective | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Signed Sprouts | Complete 5 contracts | +5% sprinkler boost |
| Loyal Helper | Hatch 15 pets | +5% pet earnings boost |
| Event Regular | Participate in 3 gameplay events | +1% farm earnings |
| Route Runner | Participate in 3 trucker or alien invasion events | +2.5% seed luck |
Which path to unlock first
Both paths complement each other, so the long-term goal is finishing everything. The order only changes how fast you see returns based on how you already play.
- If you spend most of your time chasing weather and gameplay events, start on the Farm side to convert that activity into crop sell value and composter luck.
- If you focus on pets and contracts, open the Player side first for the sprinkler, pet earnings, and seed luck boosts.
The boosts are individually small, but they stack with stronger seeds, higher composter luck, faster sprinklers, and higher crop values. Get Floor 3 unlocked, click the tree, and work through the objectives during normal play, since the requirements line up with what you are already doing.
