Cargo Storm is the newest weather event in Mini War, and it arrived alongside the Generals update. While it runs, a cargo ship pulls up offshore and starts sending helicopters inland to drop capturable bases across the map. Your job is simple. Find a base, move troops onto it, and claim the reward before someone else does.

Quick answer: When Cargo Storm starts, head to a dropped Cargo base, press E, pick a Military Unit to send, and wait for the capture to finish. Each successful capture gives you a Cargo Chest, and the event also raises market prices by 10% to 20% for its full 15 minutes.

When Cargo Storm triggers and how long it lasts

Like the other weather events in Mini War, Cargo Storm has a chance to begin at fixed points in every hour rather than at fully random moments. The roll happens at the 15-minute marks of the clock, so the event can only kick off at the top of the hour or on a quarter. Once it starts, it stays active for 15 minutes.

During that window the market gets a 10% to 20% price boost, so anything you sell while the storm is live earns more than it would normally. The bigger draw, though, is the cargo drops.

How the Cargo base drops work

Once the cargo ship arrives at sea, it launches helicopters that fly toward the main area and drop Cargo bases, sometimes called outposts. Across the full 15 minutes, the helicopters drop around 20 bases total. That gives you roughly 20 separate chances to capture something and pull a reward.

Capturing is straightforward when you are on your own. It gets harder when other players are racing you to the same base. Once a base is captured, it disappears, so speed matters when several people spot the same drop.

How to capture a Cargo base

Scan the map for a Cargo base, or watch the helicopters overhead. Following a chopper lets you reach a fresh drop first before the competition arrives.
Walk up to the base and press E on your keyboard to open the capture prompt.
Choose the Military Unit you want to send in to take the base. You can run captures on more than one base at the same time, so spread your forces if several drops are nearby.

Wait for the capture timer to finish. When it completes, the base is yours and a Cargo Chest reward is added. The base then vanishes from the map.

Cargo Chest rewards and drop rates

Every captured base hands over a Cargo Chest. The contents range from Gems to building items, each at its own drop chance. Gems are by far the most common pull, which makes this event a reliable way to farm them.

Is Cargo Storm worth your time?

For beginners and mid-game players, Cargo Storm is a solid stop. The constant Gem drops make it one of the better Gem-farming activities in the game, and you barely need to fight for the early bases.

For seasoned players, the appeal drops off. The non-Gem rewards, like the Soldier Statue, Worker Statue, Research Booster, Worker Statue V2, and Gem Mine, can all be picked up elsewhere through shops and the Black Market without much trouble. The rarest pull, the Gem Mine, costs only 220 Gems at the Black Market, so chasing the 1% chance is rarely worth the effort once you have a strong economy. If you are short on Gems, though, the storm pays out almost every capture.
