How to confirm the update is live

Open the game once maintenance ends. The launcher or in-game prompt will offer the Version “Luna VIII” download. The title screen and version label update once the patch installs.
Check your in-game mailbox. Maintenance compensation Primogems arrive there after the version goes live, which is the clearest sign the update has finished rolling out for your account.
Open the Wish menu. The new Sandrone and Citlali banners appear there immediately when Phase 1 begins on July 1st, confirming you are on the new version.

The update splits into two phases. Sandrone debuts as a 5-star Cryo Claymore user in Phase 1, joined by a Citlali rerun. Phase 2 brings back Columbina and Raiden Shogun. A Lightrace Wish also runs during the version, featuring Wriothesley, Yae Miko, Mizuki, Qiqi, and Cyno along with their signature weapons.

What launches on day one

Luna VIII is the final Song of the Welkin Moon patch, and it carries the largest piece of new content in months. Players board a spacecraft and travel beyond Teyvat to the Frost Moon, a permanent new region with a luminous lunar sea, an orbiting space station, ancient dragon ruins, and gravity-shifting terrain. Both the moon map and Teyvat get a new layered display that shows your current vertical level in real time.

Sandrone arrives with Stellar-Conduct, a new Cryo-Electro reaction. Triggering it creates a Polestar Field that stores excess Cryo and Electro energy, converts it into buffs, raises Stellar-Conduct, Cryo, and Electro damage for characters inside it, and lowers enemy Physical RES. In combat, Sandrone commands an autonomous construct named Fagio that fires within the field.

The flagship event, Sunny Summer Fontinalia, sails aboard the Wingalet in Fontaine, where you manage a ship aquarium and draw in festival visitors. Finishing it lets you add Charlotte to your roster for free and unlocks her new outfit, Hurlock Variations, while Citlali’s Whispers of Stars and Smoke skin is offered at a limited-time discount.
