Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds — Unlock and Win the Secret Grand Prix

The base game features eight Grand Prix events arranged as four-race circuits. You begin with six available and can open two more through progression: the Egg Grand Prix and the Secret Grand Prix. The steps below outline how to unlock each and a clear approach for winning the final circuit.

Unlock Egg Grand Prix (required before Secret Grand Prix)

The game starts you with six selectable Grand Prix circuits. The Egg Grand Prix becomes available after you participate in each of those six at least once, regardless of your placement or points.

Race each of the six default Grand Prix one time. Your score does not matter for this requirement; participation is sufficient.

Check the Grand Prix selection screen. Previously played circuits are marked, helping you confirm all six have been attempted and that the Egg Grand Prix has unlocked.

Unlock Secret Grand Prix (win first overall in every circuit)

The Secret Grand Prix opens after you place first overall across all earlier circuits, including the newly accessible Egg Grand Prix. Overall placement is determined by the points tally after each circuit’s fourth race.

Aim to finish first overall in a circuit by the end-of-circuit points tally, not just single races.

Include the Egg Grand Prix in your set of first-place overall finishes.

Use the gold trophy icon on the circuit tiles to track which Grand Prix you’ve already won overall.

If a race result will likely block a first-place finish, spend 20 Donpa Tickets to restart that race and preserve your overall run.

After recording first place across all required circuits, confirm the Secret Grand Prix is now available on the selection screen. You may also see an XX Challenge indicator that reflects your progress toward this unlock.

Win the Secret Grand Prix (format and approach)

Like the other circuits, the Secret Grand Prix consists of three standard races and a fourth medley race that stitches all three tracks into one final. The CrossWorlds mechanic modifies the second lap of the first three races, so plan your lines with that shift in mind.

Adjust your Gadget Plate before entering the circuit to suit your driving style and the course demands.

Practice handling all three vehicle types so you stay competitive across varied track features.

Learn each course’s layout and key sections where speed, grip, or handling dominates.

Anticipate the CrossWorlds change on lap two of the first three races and choose lines that remain stable after the switch.

Prioritize consistent top finishes to accumulate points. A second-place salvage can be better for your overall total than risking a low finish.

Use 20 Donpa Tickets to immediately retry a race that would jeopardize first overall; this saves time over replaying the entire circuit.

In the medley finale, stay adaptable as each lap shifts to a different course. Keep a mental checklist of braking points and hazards for all three tracks.

Use the gold trophy icon on each Grand Prix tile to quickly see where you’ve already secured first overall. If a mid-circuit result threatens your points lead, restart that race with 20 Donpa Tickets instead of playing out the remaining events and risking the entire run.

Rewards for completing the Secret Grand Prix

Finishing the Secret Grand Prix awards a new “Dark Sage” character skin and triggers a special credits sequence featuring a retrospective medley and imagery from past Sonic titles.

Once the Egg and Secret circuits are open, the rest is disciplined race management: learn the layouts, bank steady points, and use retries strategically. With all earlier circuits won overall, the final set should fall into place.
