Ophydia in Palworld: Type, Location, and How to Beat Her

Everything confirmed about the Lotus Dragon before Palworld Version 1.0 arrives on July 10, 2026.

Ophydia is one of the headline new Pals joining Palworld with the Version 1.0 update on July 10, 2026. The community has already nicknamed her the Lotus Dragon, and it is easy to see why. She has a slender, serpentine body wrapped in what looks like a blooming lotus, with soft pink petals and a calm, water-bound presence pulled straight from her teaser footage.

Quick answer: Ophydia is a suspected Dragon-type Pal launching in Palworld Version 1.0 on July 10, 2026. Her exact spawn spot, stats, and breeding recipe are not live yet, but you can prepare by stocking Ice-type Pals like Reindrix, Sibelyx, or Cryolinx to counter her in combat.

Ophydia type and release details

Pocketpair has kept most of Ophydia’s data sheet under wraps, but the studio’s own poetic description sets the mood: “Ophydia rests where quiet waters gleam, a blooming lotus in a silent dream. Petals of pink beneath the blue tinted skies, the fairest flower where the river lies.”

Her element has not been officially confirmed. Dragon is the heavily favored guess based on her design and the way she fights, so treat that as the working assumption until launch day.

Where to find Ophydia in Palworld

Pocketpair has not pinned down Ophydia’s spawn point yet, so no confirmed map location exists until the update goes live. What we can reason from her design is more useful right now than a guess.

If she lands as a Dragon-type, the late-game zones are the smart places to start hunting. The Astral Mountains and Mt. Obsidian are the most likely candidates, since that is where higher-tier Pals tend to live. Her heavy water theme also opens the door to a special spawn near rivers or open bodies of water, which would fit both her look and her fighting style.

Note: none of these locations are confirmed. Bookmark this page and the confirmed spawn will be added once Version 1.0 is out.

How to beat Ophydia

Walking into this fight unprepared can end fast. Assuming the Dragon typing holds, Ice is your best answer, because Dragon takes double damage from Ice attacks. Reindrix, Sibelyx, and Cryolinx are all solid picks to bring along.

Her signature move is the part to watch. She curls up into a flower, slips beneath the water, and then detonates in a large explosion. Keep moving and do not stand still when she vanishes under the surface, or that blast will catch you.

Leave your Dark-type Pals at home for this one. Dragon deals 2x damage to Dark, so those Pals will be at a clear disadvantage against her.

MatchupEffect
Ice vs. Ophydia2x damage (use Reindrix, Sibelyx, Cryolinx)
Ophydia vs. Dark Pals2x damage against you (avoid Dark Pals)

How to breed Ophydia

The full parent recipe for Ophydia is not available until the update ships. The one certainty is the mirror combo: pairing a male and female Ophydia together will always produce another Ophydia at your Breeding Farm.

Any two-parent recipes that create Ophydia from other Pals will be confirmed after launch. Until then, the existing breeding chart covers every Pal already in the game.

Can you ride Ophydia?

Riding has not been confirmed, but it looks plausible. Her long, serpentine build and the water-gliding movement shown in teasers make a mount feel natural, whether that turns out to be aquatic, aerial, or a mix of both. Her saddle or gear requirements are not known yet.

Ophydia is shaping up to be one of the most striking debuts in Palworld Version 1.0 when it arrives on July 10, 2026. Save this page and check back after launch for her confirmed spawn locations, stats, active and partner skills, drops, and the full breeding chart.
