Sprites are collectible companions in Fortnite Battle Royale, each with its own passive ability and a set of harder-to-find variants. Every Sprite carries a base rarity of Rare, Epic, Legendary, or Mythic, and its chest spawn rate drops sharply as you move up that scale or into a fancier variant.

Quick answer: The rarest Sprites are the Galaxy Zero Point and Galaxy Grim, each with a chest spawn rate of 0.0000004%. Their base Mythic forms (Zero Point and Grim) sit at 0.000098%, making them the toughest pulls in the game outside special event hours.

Sprite rarity tiers, from common to Mythic

Sprites use four rarity tiers. Mythic is the top tier, sitting above Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Rarity mostly tracks how often a Sprite spawns in chests, so a Rare Water Sprite shows up constantly while a Mythic Zero Point almost never does.

Note: Burnt Peanut is Mythic but far more common than the other two Mythic Sprites because it drops from Relic Chests at roughly a 1.5% chance, and it exists only in its standard form with no variants.

The rarest Sprite variants and their spawn rates

Most Sprites come in Normal, Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy versions. For any given Sprite, the Galaxy, Gummy, and Gold forms are always rarer than the Normal one. Stack that on top of a Mythic base like Zero Point or Grim and the odds fall to fractions of a percent.

What each variant adds

A variant keeps the Sprite’s own passive ability and layers a second bonus on top. A Gummy Fire still triggers its fiery burst, and it also pays out the Gummy reward. You do not unlock variants separately. You find each one in a chest and extract it during a match, exactly like the Normal version.

VariantAdded bonus
NormalBase ability only, no extra bonus.
GoldBonus XP from eliminations. Rarer, and costs more Sprite Dust to summon.
Gummy+10% Sprite Dust whenever you extract a Sprite.
Galaxy+20% more ammo when looting. Added June 18, 2026.
Gem−30% fall damage.
HolofoilBetter squad odds to find rare Sprites.
CubeSpecial variant for Dream and Punk.
QuackSpecial variant for Zero Point.

The June 25, 2026 update added five new Sprites along with the Gem and Holofoil variants, bringing the roster to 18 Sprites in total.

How to improve your odds on rare Sprites

Outside of luck, the most reliable way to collect Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy Sprites is to play during Epic’s timed variant events. These recurring windows raise the spawn rate for a specific variant, so playing heavily while one is live gives you far more chances than a normal match. No official date for the next event window is currently confirmed.

Two other routes exist when a Sprite refuses to drop. You can eliminate a player who is carrying a rare Sprite, or you can trade with other players through community trading hubs on Reddit and X, which has become a common way to fill in missing variants.

How to keep a Sprite you find

Finding a Sprite in a chest is only the first step. You keep it permanently by extracting it at an Extraction Site, or with a Portable Extractor, before the match ends. If you are eliminated or leave before extracting, the Sprite does not join your collection.

Once a Sprite is extracted, it is yours for good and appears in your locker. From then on you can summon it in future matches by spending Sprite Dust, and rarer variants such as Gold cost more Dust to bring into a game. Chasing the Galaxy Zero Point or Galaxy Grim remains the hardest goal in the entire set, since their spawn rates sit near the bottom of every list.
