The Sprite Umbrellas are free gliders tied to the Sprite Mastery track in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. There are three in total, and you earn them by mastering Sprites rather than paying anything. Only one is claimable right now, and the path to it runs entirely through repeatable in-match progress.
Quick answer: Master 21 Sprites to reach Sprite Mastery Level 21 and claim the Air Sprite Shade Umbrella from the Rewards tab. The Fire and Water Sprite Shade Umbrellas are set to unlock at higher Mastery levels that are not yet confirmed.
All three Sprite Umbrellas and their unlock requirements
Each umbrella sits at a Sprite Mastery milestone. The Air version is live, while the other two are queued for a later date and will demand more mastered Sprites to reach.
| Umbrella | Sprite Mastery required | Available now |
|---|---|---|
Air Sprite Shade Umbrella | Level 21 (21 Sprites mastered) | Yes |
Fire Sprite Shade Umbrella | Not yet confirmed | No |
Water Sprite Shade Umbrella | Not yet confirmed | No |
These are separate from the Victory Umbrella earned by winning a match. Getting a head start on Mastery now puts you in position to claim the Fire and Water gliders the moment their thresholds go live.

Add to Google Preferences →What counts as mastering a Sprite
A Sprite is mastered when you take it to maximum Level 5 and then extract it. Reaching Level 5 alone does not count. You have to lock it in through one of three extraction methods, or the progress is lost if you leave the match or get eliminated.
- Place the Sprite in an Extraction Crate called at an Extraction Site on the map.
- Use a Portable Extractor from anywhere on the island.
- Win the match, since a Victory Royale extracts your equipped Sprite automatically.
Being downed or leaving early resets your equipped Sprite to Level 1 and drops it. Levels persist across matches only once the Sprite is safely extracted.
How Sprite Mastery points are earned
Points feed the currently equipped Sprite and are shared across a squad. These are the reliable sources per action.
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| Open a container (chest, ammo box, Sprite Chest) | 75 each |
| Extract a Sprite | 100 base, scaling with rarity, variant, and level |
| Down an opponent | 100 |
| Eliminate an opponent, Boss, or NPC | 200 |
| Assist an elimination | 75 |
Eliminations and duplicate extractions are the highest-value single actions, while opening containers builds up passively as you play. Note that bot lobbies award far fewer points, so container opens there drop to 19 and eliminations to 50.

Fastest ways to master Sprites
Run the teleporter network. Five teleporter tunnels are spread across the Chapter 7 Season 3 map, and each tunnel holds some of the densest chest and ammo-crate clusters in the game. Looping the full network lets you level a Sprite to 5 and extract it without ever fighting a player.
Buy Quack Snacks for instant levels. A Quack Snack raises your equipped Sprite by one full level the moment you use it. It sits in every Mending Machine on the map for 1,500 Gold Bars, so a stockpile of bars is the most direct way to push Mastery without relying on match performance.
Play during Sprite events. Sprite events apply modifiers that speed up collection, and the Mastery-focused windows are the strongest choice when your goal is racking up masteries quickly. Log in while one is active to make each run count for more.
How to claim the Air Sprite Shade Umbrella
You will know it worked when the umbrella appears in your glider locker and the milestone is marked complete. If it has not unlocked, the usual cause is reaching Level 5 on Sprites without extracting them, since an un-extracted Sprite does not count toward the mastery total. Keep grinding those masteries now, and the Fire and Water umbrellas will be within reach as soon as their requirements are announced.
