The DC Hot Bat Summer event adds a batch of quests that hand out free XP and cosmetics, and one of them asks you to search Safes or Cash Registers on the Chapter 7 Season 3 map. Both are gold-dropping containers, but they spawn in very different amounts, and picking the right one saves you a whole match.
Quick answer: Land at a store-heavy point of interest such as Cluster Coast or The Battlewoods, search any three Cash Registers, and the quest completes for 10,000 XP. Cash Registers spawn every match, so ignore Safes unless one is right in front of you.
Safes vs Cash Registers: which one to chase
Both containers only pay out Gold Bars, and both give XP when you open rather than destroy them. The gap is reliability. Cash Registers have a 100% spawn rate and give 100 XP each, while Safes are far rarer and only appear at fixed spots on a random roll. Safes drop more Gold Bars per open, but they also take a while to crack, which leaves you exposed to other players.

How to complete the Hot Bat Summer quest fast
The quest only needs you to search three containers total, and Cash Registers count the same as Safes. That means you can wrap it up in a single match by dropping into a commercial POI with plenty of checkouts.
Note: You do not have to finish all three in one life. Progress carries over between matches, so search what you can and come back for the rest later.
How to know it worked
When you interact with a container, the prompt reads SEARCH SAFE or the equivalent for a register, and Gold Bars spill out once the search finishes. Each search updates the quest counter on the left side of the screen, and completing the third one triggers the quest completion notification along with the 10,000 XP payout toward the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass. Clearing it also moves you one step closer to the free DC Hot Bat Summer rewards.
If a container gives no credit, the most common reason is that you destroyed it with a pickaxe instead of searching it. Break a Safe and you lose both the XP and the quest progress, so always hold the interact button to open it properly.
