A rundown of the cards worth the 100,000-coin cost, plus the exact upgrades and lock-up time you’re signing up for.

The FUTTIES Countdown Evolution is live in EA Sports FC 26, and it turns a qualifying card into a pink FUTTIES item with boosts across every face stat. It is one of the more expensive evolutions of the cycle, and it uses Training Camp, so your player sits out of every game mode while it runs. Picking the right card matters because you only get the full payoff once.

Quick answer: Use a card rated 94 or lower whose key face stats already sit at 90+ (Beckham, Goretzka, Hazard, Lewandowski, Ronaldo, and similar), so the FUTTIES rarity and PlayStyle+ potential become the real reward instead of the raw stat gains.

Cost, requirements, and lock-up time

This is a Training Camp evolution, which means no matches are required. Instead you lock the card for a set period and cannot play it until the timer finishes. The full path takes 72 hours split across two levels of 36 hours each.

The entry rules keep the pool wide but block a few things:

  • Overall: maximum 94
  • Excluded rarity: World Tour Silver Stars
  • Excluded position: goalkeepers

What the two levels upgrade

The stat gains are spread across both levels, and every attribute is capped. On top of the numbers, the card is converted to FUTTIES rarity, and FUTTIES items are expected to be PlayStyle customizable at release, giving this path up to five PlayStyle+ slots to play with.

Level 1+3 OVR (96), +5 PAC (95), +4 SHO (96)1d 12h
Level 2+4 PAS (96), +4 DRI (96), +4 DEF (96), +4 PHY (96), FUTTIES rarity1d 12h

Note: because most attributes cap at 96 and pace caps at 95, a card that is already close to those ceilings will waste part of the boost. That is why raw upgrade value is not the goal here.

Best players to use in FUTTIES Countdown

The smart move is to save your biggest cards for future evolutions and instead feed in an item whose main stats already peak at 90 or higher. You keep those high numbers, gain the FUTTIES rarity, and unlock the PlayStyle+ customization on top of a card that was already strong. These options fit that plan well.

If you would rather build a true end-game item, chain this onto an earlier evolution instead of using it alone. A 93-rated Messi from the Ratings Reload path, for example, can take the final stat touches here and stack a PlayStyle+ set such as Finesse, Low Driven, Rapid, Quick Step, and Incisive Pass. Other strong chain-enders that fit the max-94 rule include an Ultimate Birthday Cristiano Ronaldo, an Ultimate Birthday Inaki Williams, an Ultimate Scream Pogba, and a Glory Hunters Denzel Dumfries.

How to confirm it finished

You will know the evolution is complete when the timer on both levels reaches zero and the card returns to your club as a FUTTIES item with the pink card art. At that point the stat boosts are applied and the player is playable again in every mode. Remember that once you start Training Camp, the item is locked and cannot be used until the full 72 hours have passed, so only begin the process when you can spare that player for three days.

Timing also matters if you are lining this up with the wider promo. FUTTIES Team 1 arrives on Friday, July 24, 2026, so completing your Countdown card before or around that launch keeps it ready alongside the new pink squads.
