Clear the game's first tutorial dungeon, beat the Salty Tongue, and grab the Flamingo Splattershot Jr.

Clear the game’s first tutorial dungeon, beat the Salty Tongue, and grab the Flamingo Splattershot Jr.

Pantree Beach is the opening tutorial run in Splatoon Raiders, the Nintendo Switch 2 spinoff where you play as the Mechanic alongside Deep Cut after a crash landing on the Spirhalite Islands. It sits on Lehlo Island as a Raid Level 1 dungeon with no Spicy tier, and it exists to teach you the core moves before the islands open up.

Quick answer: Explore the beach, swim through ink with ZL, shoot with ZR to break crates and climb walls, splat the Salmonids, defeat the boss Salty Tongue, then reach the broken machine at the end and repair it back at base to complete the stage.

Pantree Beach dungeon details

This is a Past Adventures dungeon, the tutorial category that also gates story progress. Clearing it opens the next region and hands you a stronger starter weapon.

Controls you’ll use

Two buttons carry almost the whole run. Ink is your paint, your path, and your speed boost, so keep painting the ground ahead of you.

InputAction
ZRShoot ink to paint surfaces, break crates and balloons, and hit enemies
ZLSwim through your own ink to move fast and climb inked walls

Set up your character

After the crash cutscene, the story jumps a month ahead to your base and gives you control of the Mechanic. Pick how your character looks and sounds to begin.

Choose a hairstyle, adjust the skin tone, then set the eye color. Select the Love It! prompt to lock in your look.

Cross the beach and collect shards

A short talk with Deep Cut about moving the base plays out, then you’re teleported onto the island. A mysterious shard sits in front of you. Move the reticle onto it and hold to fix your horizon.

Walk forward with the stick and touch the shards scattered along the path. When you reach ink on the ground, press ZL to swim through it and cover distance quickly.
A stack of crates blocks the way ahead. Press ZR to fire ink and smash the crates and balloons to clear the route.

Climb the stairs to a wall that’s too tall to jump. Cover it in ink with ZR, then hold ZL to swim straight up it. Use the same trick to slip under a metal grate, and paint a grate on the floor to drop through to the next area.
You’ll land in yellow ink, which is enemy ink and slows you down. Shoot over it with ZR to recolor it, then swim through freely. Jump onto the plank near the water and ride it across to the far side.

Tip: Never swim in yellow enemy ink. Repaint it first so you keep your speed and don’t get stuck in the open.

Fight the Salmonids and grab extra shards

A group of Salmonids appears next. These early enemies are simple. Aim at each one and press ZR to splat them.

Once they’re cleared, cross the large yellow ink puddle to the other side. On your right is a wooden structure you can climb to pop balloons for shards, and rings on your left hold more shards to pass through.
Go straight ahead to another plank. Ride it across the water, swim through the rings on the way, and take the path on the right.

Beat the Salty Tongue boss

The right-hand path leads to a giant Salmonid, the Salty Tongue, backed by two Chum. Keep your distance and keep firing with ZR until it goes down. Staying mobile makes the fight straightforward.

When it’s defeated, a weapon drops in front of you. Paint over the leftover enemy ink as you approach and pick it up to get the Flamingo Splattershot Jr., an upgraded version of your starting gun.

Reach the machine to finish the stage

Smash the last pile of crates to open the path forward. Keep collecting shards as you go.
You’ll spot a destroyed machine ahead. Walk up to it to trigger a dialogue where the crew hauls it back to base and repairs it. Once that scene ends, Pantree Beach is complete and the story moves on toward the next island.

You’ll know the run cleared when the repair sequence finishes and control returns to your base, with the Flamingo Splattershot Jr. now in your kit. From here, the next Past Adventures dungeon opens up on Erpp Island, where the objectives shift from pure exploration to drilling crystals and chasing treasure.
