The Authenticator is a service NPC in Storage Hunters Open World that adds a single permanent bonus to an accessory. It arrived with the Lucky Beach update, and it runs on Certificates of Authenticity, which drop as rare items from auctions anywhere on the map. Every authentication rolls one random stat, and there is a small chance that stat is an exclusive one you cannot get any other way.
Quick answer: Take an accessory and a Certificate of Authenticity to the Authenticator NPC inside the Authenticator Building near the Farmyard, then interact with the NPC to roll one permanent bonus stat onto that accessory.
Where to find the Authenticator in Storage Hunters Open World
The Authenticator NPC stands inside the Authenticator Building, which sits close to the Farmyard area. If you cannot spot the building on your own, the in-game navigation will route you straight there.

Add to Google Preferences →How to get a Certificate of Authenticity
You earn Certificates of Authenticity by winning auctions and opening the containers. They are universal items, so they can drop from any area rather than being tied to a single location. That makes them a rare find you cannot farm from one spot.
There are two kinds, Wooden and Premium. They have different sale values, but the type has no effect on the authentication roll. In other words, a Wooden certificate rolls stats exactly the same way a Premium one does.
Tip: Do not sell your certificates. They are hard to come by, and each one is better spent authenticating one of your strongest accessories.
What authenticating an accessory does
Authenticating spends one Certificate of Authenticity and applies a single permanent bonus stat to the chosen accessory. The roll is random. Most of the time it lands on a basic stat, and there is a smaller chance it lands on an exclusive stat that only the Authenticator can grant.
You know it worked when the accessory shows its new permanent bonus after you interact with the NPC. The certificate is consumed in the process, so each roll costs one certificate.
All basic bonus stats
These are the common results. Any accessory can roll them, regardless of slot.
| Stat | Effect |
|---|---|
| Luck | Adds a permanent luck boost to the accessory. |
| Bid Recovery | Lets you bid again more quickly after missing a Bid Zone. |
| Bid Arrow Speed | Reduces the bid arrow speed multiplier. |
| Bid Zone Width | Increases the bid zone width multiplier. |
| Tip Chance | Raises the chance customers leave tips. |
| NPC Offers Bonus | Customers make better and more frequent offers. |
| Walkspeed | Increases your walk speed. |
All exclusive stats and slot rules
Exclusive stats have the smaller chance and cannot appear on accessories any other way. Each one is locked to a specific accessory slot, so it can only roll onto an accessory of that type.
| Stat | Slot | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Sunny | Head | Increases your luck during the day. |
| Nocturnal | Head | Increases your luck during the night. |
| Overcharged | Head | Increases the luck boost from drinks. |
| Raindrop | Back | Increases your luck during the rainy weather event. |
| Focused | Back | Boosts the accessory’s strongest existing stat. |
| Time Keeper | Wrist | Reduces the time between free Time Capsule rolls. |
| Connected | Wrist | Gives extra luck to friends in the same server. |
Re-authenticating to reroll a stat
If you do not like the stat you rolled, you can authenticate the same accessory again with another certificate. Re-authenticating replaces the current bonus with a newly rolled one. There is also a chance you land on the same stat again, so keep spare certificates if you are chasing a specific exclusive.
Because slot restrictions apply, plan which accessory you feed into the Authenticator. If you want a night-luck build, roll on a head accessory; if you want the friend luck bonus or faster Time Capsule rolls, roll on a wrist accessory. Saving your certificates for accessories that already carry strong stats gives each roll more value, especially when Focused amplifies whatever the accessory’s best buff already is.
