Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: How to Get the Home Across the Sea Sea Shanty

Track down a singing NPC near the Nassau General Store and hear him out to add this hidden tune to your collection.

Track down a singing NPC near the Nassau General Store and hear him out to add this hidden tune to your collection.

The Home Across the Sea sea shanty in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is one of the few tunes that never shows up as a floating song sheet. You cannot chase it across rooftops, and no quest hands it to you as a reward. Instead, it comes from a quiet encounter with a street performer in Nassau, and you only earn it by taking the time to listen.

Quick answer: Sail to Nassau, dock, and walk to the General Store around coordinates 597,767. Stand next to the singing NPC for about a minute until a Talk prompt appears, then speak with him to receive the shanty.

Where to find the Home Across the Sea shanty in Nassau

This shanty lives in Nassau, one of the central hubs in the story, so you will pass through the town naturally as you play. The performer sings near the General Store, close to coordinates 597,767. Open your map and hover over Nassau to line up the spot before you sail over, then dock at the pier and head into town on foot.

How to unlock the shanty from the singing NPC

Dock the Jackdaw at Nassau and disembark toward the town center. Make your way straight for the General Store area near coordinates 597,767.
Look for a man with a ponytail and a beard, holding a drink in his hand and belting out a song at full volume. This is the performer singing Home Across the Sea.

Stand close and stay put for roughly a full minute while he finishes the song. Walking off too soon means the interaction never opens, so let him sing it through.
Once the Talk prompt appears, use it to start the conversation. The man remarks that you must be fond of the tune to have listened all the way, and Edward answers that it was well sung. He appreciates the kindness and hands over a copy of Home Across the Sea, adding it to your collection.

How to confirm you unlocked it

You will know the shanty is yours once the conversation ends and the NPC gives you the copy. From there, board the Jackdaw and open the music wheel while sailing outside of combat. Home Across the Sea will now appear in the list alongside your other unlocked tunes, ready to play on demand.

Note: The single reason this fails is leaving before the Talk prompt shows up. If you do not see it, return to the same spot and wait through the song again until the option appears.

Like the rest of the shanties in Resynced, this one changes nothing about your combat or gear. It simply gives your crew another song to sing on the open water, and Home Across the Sea is worth the short detour through Nassau to add it to the rotation.
