Splatoon Raiders gives your Inkling or Octoling a set of hairstyles to pick from, plus a couple you only earn after finishing the story. The color side works differently from past Splatoon games, so it helps to know exactly what you control and what the game decides for you.
Quick answer: There are 14 hairstyles in total, 7 for Inklings and 7 for Octolings. Twelve are available from the start (six per species), and the remaining two unlock after you beat the main story. You can swap hairstyles at any time from Player Settings while aboard the Hideout Ship, but hair color is randomized automatically and can’t be chosen.

Your options depend on whether you play as an Inkling or an Octoling. Each species has its own set of seven cuts. Six of them are unlocked right away during character creation, and the seventh becomes available once you clear the campaign.

How to change your hairstyle
You’re not locked into your first pick. Changing your hair, and even switching between Inkling and Octoling, is done through the same menu and can be repeated as often as you like.
Note: If you switch species, re-check your hairstyle afterward, since the Inkling and Octoling sets are separate and your selection resets to that species’ own options.
Unlocking the seventh hairstyle
Two extra hairstyles, one for each species, are tied to finishing the campaign. They unlock after you defeat the final boss, and they’re the messy, bedhead-style cuts your character starts out with before you open the customization menu.
Once unlocked, they appear in Player Settings alongside the other six cuts for that species. Picking one effectively lets you return to that scruffy default look on purpose. You’ll know it worked when the seventh option shows up in the hairstyle list after the credits.
How hair color works
Hair color is not something you set manually. There’s no option to lock in a specific shade for your character. Instead, the game randomizes your hair color for you.
That reroll happens each time you enter a dungeon or arrive back at the Hideout Ship. So if you liked a particular color, expect it to change on its own the next time you head out or return, regardless of which hairstyle you have equipped.
Can you get more hairstyles later
The current count stands at 14, with the two campaign unlocks being the only additions beyond the starting twelve. If future updates or DLC arrive, more cuts could be added on top of that, but nothing beyond the existing 14 is confirmed right now.
For the moment, that’s the complete set to work with. Between the six starter styles per species and the pair you earn by finishing the story, you have room to settle on a look while the game handles the color for you.
