The Curse of the Allflame league adds 40 new challenges built around the seafaring Voyage mechanic, the reworked Abyss and Legion systems, and the usual sweep of endgame bosses and grinds. Clearing them unlocks free cosmetic microtransactions plus a stacking hideout trophy, and every reward carries over into Path of Exile 2.
Quick answer: You need 36 challenges for the full set of cosmetic rewards, and all 40 to finish the complete Allflame Challenger Trophy. The four microtransactions unlock at 12, 24, 32, and 36 challenges (or 2, 4, 6, and 8 in Ruthless).

Allflame challenge rewards and milestones
Each challenge you finish adds one piece to the Allflame Challenger Trophy hideout decoration, so the trophy grows as your count climbs. The rewards are purely cosmetic and change nothing about your character’s power.
| Challenges (Standard / Ruthless) | Reward |
|---|---|
| 12 / 2 | Oceanic Weapon Effect |
| 24 / 4 | Fangtooth Moray Pet |
| 32 / 6 | Captain’s Wheel Back Attachment |
| 36 / 8 | Oceanic Portal Effect |
Note: The Allflame Challenger Trophy gains new variants as you pass higher tiers, all the way to 40. Because 36 unlocks every microtransaction, most players stop there unless they want the full trophy.

Add to Google Preferences →Campaign and early challenges
These clear naturally as you push through the ten-act campaign. Most require nothing beyond normal progression, and you will finish several before you ever open a challenge tracker.
| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Beginner’s Basics | Defeat Hillock, Brutus, and Merveil (essentially finishing Act 1). |
| Peddler’s Produce I | Use vendor recipes to receive Armourer’s Scrap, Blacksmith’s Whetstone, Glassblower’s Bauble, and Gemcutter’s Prism. Sell items totalling 40% quality of each type. |
| Act Adversaries I | Kill the Act 1–5 bosses: Merveil the Twisted, Vaal Oversoul, Dominus, Malachai, and Kitava. |
| Possessive Pantheons | Complete eight Pantheon-related quests from Act 6 through Act 9 (Tukohama, Abberath, Ryslatha, Ralakesh, Gruthkul, Yugul, Shakari, Garukhan). |
| Act Adversaries II | Kill the Act 6–10 bosses: Brine King, Arakaali, Solaris and Lunaris, The Depraved Trinity, and Kitava again in Act 10. |
Tip: For Peddler’s Produce I, a single 20% quality piece paired with another quality piece of the same type is enough to hit the 40% recipe threshold, so bank low-level quality gear as you level.
Voyage and Allflame crafting challenges
The league mechanic centers on Valerie’s ship, The Sovereign. You chart underwater areas, link them into Voyages, and craft with Dead Man’s Sulphur and Cursed Ducats below deck. The Sovereign is reachable from the Mud Flats in Act 1, and later from any waypoint or by typing /boat in chat.

| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Deep Dive | Visit The Sovereign, place an Allflame Lantern, and chart an area. |
| Underwater Undertaking | Chart four areas, complete a Voyage, and use Dead Man’s Sulphur to craft an item. |
| Nautical Navigation | Complete 10 Voyages, defeat 200 rare monsters in Voyages, and craft equipment 50,000 times using Dead Man’s Sulphur. |
| Comprehensive Charting | Complete any nine chart types, such as Anchorfield, Diving Shoals, Sea Pillars, Sunken Totems, and Undersea Groves. |
| Superior Sovereign | Fully upgrade The Sovereign using upgrade items earned from completing Voyages. |
| Ethereal Enhancements | Use any five different Cursed Ducats (Merrick’s, Cyaxan’s, Kishara’s, Rotmother’s, Brinehook’s, and others). |
| Fathomless Fears | Complete Voyages with any nine of the listed Border Modifiers, such as areas dropping Dead Man’s Sulphur, additional Pirate’s Lockers, or Gold Lanterns. |
The first Voyage uses a 2×2 grid, so it needs four charts, while later Voyages use a 3×3 grid and need nine. You gather charts by completing the small underwater events that spawn in campaign and map areas, then talk to Valerie (or Ctrl-click her) to plan a Voyage.
Mercenaries of Trarthus challenges
The Mercenaries of Trarthus return as a permanent feature. Defeat one in a duel to claim its item and recruit it as an ally, and use Warrants to re-summon a specific mercenary with a fresh item pool.
| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Savage Sellswords | Complete any three of these: defeat 100 rare or unique monsters in level 68+ areas with an Allied Mercenary, claim 15 items with Infamous Modifiers, complete 15 maps with Mercenary Scarabs or Warrants, or defeat 30 Infamous Mercenaries in level 68+ areas. |
Returning league mechanic grinds
These are your Atlas farming challenges. They complete fastest when you force your chosen mechanics into every map through the Atlas passive tree and Scarabs, so your currency farming and challenge progress double up.
| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Ingrained Increases | Complete any three of: 30 Essence monsters, 30 Strongboxes, 30 Shrines, 30 Possessed monsters, 30 Rogue Exiles, or 30 rare Beyond monsters. |
| Legendary Leagues | Complete any five of: 30 Abysses, 30 Expeditions, 100 Harvest plots, 30 Legion encounters, 30 Smuggler’s Caches, 30 Delirium Mirrors, 200 Ultimatum waves, 30 Blights, 100 Rituals, 30 Ore Deposits, 30 Unstable Breaches/Hives, or 30 Mercenaries. |
| Trustworthy Teachers | Complete any two masters’ missions 10 times each in Tier 16 maps with at least 80% Item Quantity (Niko, Einhar, Jun, or Alva). |
| Cross Contamination | Complete any four cross-mechanic kills, such as defeating a Mercenary while Delirious, or a Legion General while affected by a Tempest. |
Note: Abyss now auto-spawns open cracks and Legion is reworked around Enshrouding Crystals, so Legion and Abyss are strong picks that pair profit with challenge progress. The Possessed Monsters option in Ingrained Increases is the most awkward one to force, so pick around it if you can.
Atlas, mapping, and Voidstone challenges
Endgame progress on the Atlas covers a large slice of the list. Several of these tick over simply by mapping consistently once your Atlas tree is set up.

| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Atlas Accomplishment | Complete all 100 non-unique maps on the Atlas (Normal or Magic versions count). |
| Vanquished Villains | Socket four Voidstones into your Atlas. These come from the Searing Exarch and Eater of Worlds, the Shaper and Elder, Incarnation of Dread, and the Maven. |
| Stacked Scarabs | Apply a running total of 750 Scarabs to maps. Every Scarab counts, so use cheap ones. |
| Modified Maps | Reach 3,000 total explicit modifiers across completed maps. Juicing low-tier maps to six mods finishes this faster. |
| Atlas Assertions | Complete any six random Atlas anomaly encounters, such as River’s End, Gambling District, Forgotten Shrine, or Untainted Paradise. |
| Taxing Tasks | Complete any five listed encounters (ideally at area level 81+), such as five Abyssal Depths, five 4-wing Blueprints, or 60 Simulacrum waves. |
Atlas anomalies appear at random after you complete maps affected by a Voidstone. Each anomaly can be run once and is tied to a specific Atlas quadrant, so keep an eye out as you map for Atlas Assertions.
Crafting, gem, and currency challenges
Socket colours no longer restrict which gems you can slot, but red, blue, and green sockets still grant extra quality to matching gems. That change shapes the socket and gem challenges below.
| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Chromatic Crafting | Use 10 Chromatic Orbs, have 15 total coloured sockets on your gear, and get a socketed skill gem to 60% quality or higher. |
| Peddler’s Produce II | Complete vendor recipes to receive five Unique Items, five Scarabs, and five Tier 16 Maps. |
| Devious Divination | Complete any three: open 40 Stacked Decks, hand in 30 Divination Card sets, complete 10 red maps with a Divination Scarab, or scry a map. |
| Corrupted Crystals | Complete any three gem tasks, such as leveling 10 gems to level 20, or corrupting a gem to level 21 or 23% quality. |
| Potent Possibilities | Use any ten of the listed currency items the stated number of times, including Awakener’s Orb, Sacred Orb, Fracturing Orb, and Enshrouding Crystals. |
Ascension and unique map challenges
| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Achieve Ascension | Use the Ascendancy Device in the normal, Cruel, Merciless, and Eternal Labyrinths, and gain a Bloodline (secondary) class. |
| Remarkable Realms | Complete any 15 listed unique maps, such as Mao Kun, Poorjoy’s Asylum, Death and Taxes, and Hall of the Grandmasters. |
High-tier map and Astrolabe challenges
These require juiced Tier 16 maps and are among the more time-consuming grinds. They are common skip candidates if you only want 36.
| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Astounding Astrolabes | Complete any six Astrolabed rare Tier 16 maps (five each) with five Scarabs applied, using types like Templar, Lightless, Nameless, and Timeless Astrolabes. |
| Excruciating Echoes | Complete any two map types in Tier 16 rare maps with 150%+ Item Quantity: 30 Originator Influenced, or five each of Courtyard of Wasting, Chambers of Impunity, or Theatre of Lies. |
| Intrigued Interlopers | Complete any two Eldritch encounter types in rare Tier 16 maps, tied to Eater of Worlds Altars, Searing Exarch Altars, or the Maven with specific Atlas keystones allocated. |
| Horrific Halls | Complete any two Nightmare Maps (Abomination, Citadel, Fortress, Sanctuary, or Ziggurat) with 150%+ Item Quantity, five Scarabs, Delirium Orbs applied, and corrupted. |
Boss and pinnacle challenges
Boss challenges are the classic route to a full 40. Public boss rotations through party finders and community Discords are the fastest way to clear invitation and pinnacle kills, and buying fragments or unique maps on trade beats self-farming for most of them.

| Challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Challenging Curators | Defeat any six listed bosses at level 80+, such as Uber Atziri, Izaro, the Abyssal Lich, or the Omnitect. |
| Bountiful Bloodlines | Defeat any seven of the listed bosses or encounters, including The Trialmaster, Catarina, Aul, Lycia, Farrul, Velka, and Zorath. |
| Succinct Summons | Complete 30 Invitations that each have at least five explicit modifiers (Writhing, Polaric, Incandescent, Screaming, or Maven’s Invitation). |
| Brinerot’s Bloody Bounty | Defeat Velka, The Tide Witch, in any three ways: without being hit by Brine Storm Call, any Anchors, Lightning Whip, or Crashing Brine. |
| Apex Assailants | Defeat any five pinnacle bosses at area level 85, such as Sirus, the Maven, the Searing Exarch, the Eater of Worlds, or the Shaper. |
| Gallant Grinding Goals | Complete any four of: reach level 100, cleanse 150 Darkshrines, defeat 30 level-85 pinnacle bosses, complete 50 corrupted 8-mod Tier 16 maps, complete 40 Nightmare Maps, or defeat 400 rare monsters in area-level-83 Voyages. |
Confirming progress and fixing a stuck tracker
Your challenge count updates in the in-game challenge panel, and each completed challenge turns from red to green. When you cross 12, 24, 32, and 36 challenges, the matching microtransaction is granted automatically and the Challenger Trophy grows in your hideout.
If a challenge you clearly finished still shows as incomplete, type /recheck_achievements in chat to force the tracker to re-verify. The counter can desync after busy periods, and this command usually corrects it.
With the easy campaign and Voyage challenges landing in your first days and the returning-mechanic grinds folding into normal farming, 36 is a realistic target for anyone playing the league steadily. The final four boss-heavy challenges are where the 40/40 chase lives, so plan boss rotations and trade purchases once your character can handle level-85 pinnacle content.
