The Mimic Chest is a Vanguard Familiar that landed with the Extermination Event Part 2 update in Anime Vanguards. It exists for one purpose, to drag Friran (Teacher) back into relevance by loading her up with a huge damage boost, extra range, and expanded spellcasting. Like every Vanguard Familiar, it locks to a single unit and cannot be shared around your roster.
Quick answer: Clear Floor 50 of the Friran Rerun Alternate Worldline to add the Mimic Chest to your inventory, then equip it to Friran (Teacher) from the Familiar menu.
Where the Mimic Chest comes from
The Mimic Chest is a guaranteed reward for reaching Floor 50 of the Friran Rerun Alternate Worldline. Worldline runs push you through 50 floors of steadily harder waves, so plan on bringing a team that can actually survive to the end. Once you clear that final floor, the familiar drops straight into your inventory.

There is no shop purchase, no token cost, and no random roll on the obtainment itself. Finishing Floor 50 is the entire requirement.

Add to Google Preferences →Which unit can equip it
The Mimic Chest only fits Friran (Teacher), a Secret-rarity unit first added back in Update 4.5. No other unit can use it. Vanguard Familiars are hard-tied to a single character, which is why they carry fixed passives instead of the random stat rolls you see on regular familiars.
Friran (Teacher) had long dropped off the list of meta picks. The Mimic Chest is the fix, pushing her damage and range far enough that she becomes a workable choice for endgame content again.
Mimic Chest passives and what they do
Equipping the Mimic Chest grants Friran (Teacher) three passives with set values. Here is exactly what each one changes.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Scholarly Mage | Gains 3,000% Damage. |
| Grand Adventure | Gains the active Grimoire. Every chest she opens also yields one Spell Page at random, up to 5 of each. Casting a spell raises her damage by 100% for 60 seconds. Every 15 seconds spent walking the track starts a new side quest, up to 4 at once. |
| Hurried Response | Increases Range by 5% for every second spent without attacking. Resets when she lands an attack. |
The result is a big flat damage jump from Scholarly Mage, a stacking spell-cast bonus from Grand Adventure, and range that builds up during downtime through Hurried Response. She still will not overtake the strongest units in the game, but she becomes a solid option to keep in a party loadout.
Restrictions to know before you invest
Vanguard Familiars follow different rules from regular ones. The Mimic Chest cannot be Corrupted, and it cannot be Rerolled with Elemental or Phoenix Shards. Its passives and their values are locked, so there is nothing to optimize after you get it. You just equip it and go.
How to confirm it worked
With the Mimic Chest attached, Friran (Teacher) trades her old benched status for real damage output and a growing range window, which is enough to justify a spot on the team for players who already have the unit.
