Cursed Gourmet is a Mythic-rarity Blast unit that arrived with the Extermination Event Pt. 2 (14.0) update in Anime Vanguards. Its design draws from Ryu Ishigori of Jujutsu Kaisen, and it plays around an energy meter that swaps between a burn attack and a heavy critical hit. Getting it is only half the job, since the version you actually want on the field is Cursed Gourmet (Full), reached through an evolution.
Quick answer: Clear a run of the Extermination Event Dungeon for a 10% drop (pity 15), or buy the unit for 1,000 Extermination Tokens from the event shop. Then evolve it with 1 Delicious Cake, 30 Green Essence, 30 Blue Essence, 20 Purple Essence, 1 Rainbow Essence, and 10,000 Gold.
Cursed Gourmet (Full) stats and role
Cursed Gourmet (Full) is a Blast-element unit that hits a line of enemies rather than a single target. Its damage scales heavily once its energy meter is full, so it behaves less like a steady damage dealer and more like a burst option that alternates between chip damage and a large guaranteed critical.

There are two ways to add the base unit to your roster, and both route through the Extermination Event content. One relies on luck with a safety net, and the other is a flat purchase.
Method 1: Extermination Event Dungeon drop
Tip: the dungeon’s Hunt rule can double the drop chance for a targeted unit and make a run count as 2 pity, so pushing that rule speeds up the grind when the host spends the shared points on it.
Method 2: Buy with Extermination Tokens
How to evolve Cursed Gourmet (Full)
Once you own the base unit, evolving it into Cursed Gourmet (Full) unlocks its stronger stat line and its full ability set. Gather every material below, then run the evolution from the Evolve menu.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Delicious Cake | 1 |
| Green Essence | 30 |
| Blue Essence | 30 |
| Purple Essence | 20 |
| Rainbow Essence | 1 |
| Gold | 10,000 |
Note: the Extermination Event Part 2 evolution track rewards Event Coins for evolving these units, and Cursed Gourmet (Full) pays out 15 Event Coins. If Evolution Madness is running, evolution essence costs are cut in half for units that are not from the latest update, which is worth keeping in mind for older units you evolve alongside it.
Abilities and how the energy meter works
Cursed Gourmet (Full) regenerates 12% energy each second and spends all available energy when it attacks. The current energy level decides which attack fires, which is the core of the unit.
- Pompadour Blast — Below 50% energy it uses Attack 1 and applies Burn for 30% of the unit’s damage over 8 seconds. At 50% energy or higher it uses Attack 2, deals 200% more damage, and guarantees a critical hit.
- Feast of the Ages — Attacks without stopping and ignores animation lockout, but cannot attack faster than once per second. Range grows by 1% per enemy in range, attacks apply a 2-second Stun, and it deals 100% more damage to enemies with Solidified or Overshield. Each kill grants 2% energy and makes the next attack inflict Burn.
Two active abilities give you manual control. Energy Usage lets you choose how much energy to spend per attack, and These Hands (30-second cooldown) strikes the highest-HP enemy for 300% of the unit’s damage while granting 100% meter.
Upgrade costs and damage per level
The Stat Amplifier totals 103,900 ¥ across all levels. Damage and range climb steadily while attack speed stays fixed at 1.1, so the unit gets stronger without changing how often it fires.
| Level | Cost (¥) | DMG | RNG | DPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 2,400 | 4,000 | 22 | 3,636 |
| 1 | 3,800 | 6,000 | 25 | 5,455 |
| 2 | 5,200 | 8,000 | 28 | 7,273 |
| 3 | 7,500 | 12,000 | 32 | 10,909 |
| 4 | 13,000 | 20,000 | 36 | 18,182 |
| 5 | 18,000 | 40,000 | 40 | 36,364 |
| 6 | 24,000 | 60,000 | 44 | 54,545 |
| 7 | 30,000 | 80,000 | 48 | 72,727 |
Endless Buffet Memoria
Cursed Gourmet (Full) has an exclusive Mythic Memoria called Endless Buffet, and some of its passives only work on this unit.
- Measured Output — Any time the unit consumes meter, all enemies in range are slowed by 50% for 10 seconds.
- Hungry for a Fight — Deals between 0% and 100% more damage to an enemy based on how close that enemy is. Closer targets take less, and targets further away take more.
With both routes to the base unit, a fixed evolution recipe, and an energy meter that rewards well-timed spending, Cursed Gourmet (Full) is a straightforward pickup for anyone working through the Extermination Event content. Farm the dungeon or bank tokens, gather the essences, and evolve it once to lock in the higher stat line.
