Terraria’s next patch, version 1.4.5.7, is close to finished. Re-Logic says the update has moved into its final stretch, with the team wrapping up content before it heads into localization and platform certification. Two new teasers came alongside that news, a reworked Chlorophyte Claymore and an arrow that changes course mid-flight to hit a target.

Quick answer: Terraria 1.4.5.7 has no confirmed release date yet. Re-Logic says the patch is “nearing completion” and will announce the exact date in August 2026, with a simultaneous launch on PC, console, and mobile.

Where Terraria 1.4.5.7 stands right now

Development on 1.4.5.7 is in its closing phase. Head of Business Strategy Ted ‘Loki’ Morphy said the team is “hard at work” on the patch and that the content itself is almost done. What’s left is a localization pass and the usual platform submissions, which need to line up so the update can go live at the same time on PC, console, and mobile.

The build has been months in the making and is shaping up as a large one, adding new tools and a wide spread of weapons and items aimed at different playstyles. Re-Logic has been sharing progress through its monthly State of the Game updates on Steam.

Chlorophyte Claymore rework: gas instead of orbs

The Chlorophyte Claymore is not a new item, but it’s getting a redesign in 1.4.5.7. Instead of throwing out a homing orb with every swing, the reworked greatsword now fills the space around you with a gas that deals damage over time to nearby enemies. Morphy framed it as a crowd-clearing tool, saying it’s what you want “when you need to clear a room fast.”

The redirecting arrow teaser

The second teaser shows an arrow that behaves like an auto-targeting projectile. After it travels a short distance, it sparks blue, sharply changes direction, and slams into the nearest enemy, in this case an unlucky bat passing by. The arrow itself looks like the plain wooden type, so the homing behavior may come from a new accessory rather than the ammo, though Re-Logic hasn’t confirmed the exact source of the effect.

What comes after the patch

Re-Logic expects some follow-up tweaks after 1.4.5.7 goes live. Morphy noted it’s “impossible to ever get it perfectly right in one go,” and said that, barring emergency fixes, those adjustments will likely be rolled into what the team is calling the ‘crossplay phase one’ update. Crossplay is the larger goal the studio is now building toward.

The exact 1.4.5.7 date is set to be revealed in August 2026. That same month, Re-Logic staff and the console and mobile team at DR Studios plan to meet in person to map out future Terraria updates. The studio has also signaled it is no longer treating any single patch as the game’s final one.

For now, there’s no countdown to start. The pieces that matter, a finished feature set and a confirmed launch window, are the ones the team says it will lock down next.
