Return 75 pieces of junk to Chopper’s platform during the 24-hour event to claim the astromech and its +50% crit perk.

Chopper is a free Iconic Droid in Star Wars: Droid Tycoon, the limited-time tycoon map inside Fortnite. You claim it by taking part in a timed event that asks you to gather scrap and deliver it to Chopper’s central platform. The reward is an Astromech droid that generates credits and grants a strong companion perk.

Quick answer: Mine junk crates around the map and deliver 75 pieces of junk to Chopper’s central platform during the event, then interact with Chopper to claim the droid.

The Chopper event window and requirement

The unlock is tied to a limited-time event that runs for 24 hours and returns on a weekly cycle. You do not craft Chopper or buy it. Instead, you complete a delivery quest that appears on the map while the event is live.

The quest tracker reads RETURN JUNK! 0/75 CHOPPER. You need to reach 75 out of 75 to earn the droid. No official date for the next event window is confirmed, so check the map while the event banner is active.

You can load into the map in Fortnite Creative using island code 7865-8305-9184.

Deliver 75 junk to Chopper’s platform

Open the Chopper quest and confirm the tracker shows RETURN JUNK! 0/75 CHOPPER. This is your progress counter, and it must reach 75/75.

Find the junk crates scattered around the map and break them with your pickaxe. Each crate drops junk items on the ground.
Pick up the dropped junk and carry it to Chopper’s central platform. Delivering pieces there raises your counter toward 75.

Once the tracker hits 75/75, walk up to Chopper on the platform and interact to claim the reward. A REWARD! CHOPPER confirmation marks the droid as unlocked and added to your roster.

Speed up junk mining with companion droids

Junk crates break faster when your pickaxe level is higher. Equipping the right companion droid before you start makes the 75-piece run much quicker.

DroidCompanion perkWhy it helps
R7 (Beskar Legendary)+8 Pickaxe LevelBreaks junk crates faster, so you hit 75 sooner
IG-11 Marshal (Default Iconic)Blueprint ShieldProtects your blueprints on the conveyor belt from other players

Tip: During a Beskar Surge or Rainbow Surge, Mega Crates can spawn. These hold high-value rewards such as Nova Crystals and Galactic blueprints, so it is worth farming them while you are on the map.

Chopper stats and companion perk

Chopper is an Astromech droid. When set to work it produces credits, and as a companion it boosts your critical hits, which is useful for mining junk crates faster on future runs.

Unlock the Chopper Paint style

There is a matching cosmetic reward for players who keep delivering junk. The Chopper Paint style has its own tracker, shown as RETURN JUNK! 0/100 CHOPPER PAINT.

To earn the paint, return 100 pieces of junk instead of stopping at 75. Since the droid unlocks at 75, you only need 25 more deliveries during the same event to also secure the paint style.

If Chopper does not unlock

The claim only triggers after two conditions are met. First, the event must be live, since the junk quest only appears during the 24-hour window. Second, your tracker must read 75/75 before you interact with Chopper on the platform.

You know it worked when the reward pop-up for Chopper appears, and the droid shows up among your unlocked Iconic Droids. If the counter is stuck below 75, keep mining junk crates and returning the pieces to the central platform until it fills.
