It shares the same encounters as the Ouroboros without replacing it, so a single clear now gives you a shot at either weapon. Clearing the Incursion grants a key, and that key opens the final chest for a single 10% roll. Keys stack if you leave them unused, so you can bank several and open the chest multiple times in one sitting. Each opening is its own independent roll. Marksman rifle damage and headshot damage are the natural stats to prioritize, and stacking Damage to Targets Out of Cover (DTE) alongside them pushes the numbers higher still.
The exotic talent: “You can look… but you can’t touch”
The talent is the whole point of the weapon, and it works in two linked halves. While you are out of combat, the rifle builds up to 10 stacks. Each stack adds 12.5% Amplified Damage, so a fully charged first shot is heavily boosted. In PvP the ceiling drops to 5 stacks at 12% each.
The second half is a built-in defensive layer. One stack is automatically consumed to fully repair a single instance of incoming damage, and a stack replenishes every 3 seconds (8 seconds in PvP). That gives a marksman rifle a self-repair mechanic it would not normally have, rewarding you for landing precise shots and staying alive between fights.

Note: Determined on the standard sniper rifle still dominates the marksman rifle slot in min-maxed builds. Until that changes, most marksman rifles, exotic or not, will have a hard time out-competing it on paper. That does not make the Prima Donna weak.
