Combat Bags are preset loadouts in Mistfall Hunter that equip a full set of gear with one action, so you can drop into a run without losing your own hand-built kit if you die before extracting. You cannot edit what a bag contains, and it is only spent when you actually enter a map. Equipping or swapping one at camp costs nothing.
Quick answer: Send the Scavenger Squad on expeditions through Twig, spend Echo of Fate in the Season Store on Advanced and Pro bags, and climb Path of Glory to the Duskborn and Mistwalker tiers for a Pro and an Elite bag. New players also get a free bag from the Pip’s Provision quest.
Combat Bag tiers and gear values
Open your Warehouse and switch to the Combat Bag tab to see all five. Four sit under the Normal tab, and the fifth Custom bag sits under Limited. Higher rarity means better weapons, armor, and healing items inside.

The Novice bag is the most common and the one you will collect most often. It also has a storage cap of 10 in your inventory, so anything picked up beyond that is wasted. The Limited bag holds a personal loadout you build yourself, and it is the hardest to keep stocked.
Which bag each map mode allows
Each mode limits which tiers you can bring, and each mode also has an entry requirement tied to your equipment, so your existing setup partly decides how strong a bag you can carry.

Scavenger Squad expeditions (most consistent)
The steadiest supply comes from the Scavenger Squad, and you can dispatch it roughly once per hour. Even if you are not playing a long session, logging in to send a squad takes a minute and slowly builds a reserve.
Tip: Upgrading the Scavenger Squad opens better expeditions, which raises the odds of higher-tier bags like Pro or above coming home.
Season Store and Fate Chart
The Season tab holds two more sources. The first is the Fate Chart, which hands out repeatable quests that pay Echo of Fate. Spend that currency in the Season Store to buy Advanced and Pro Combat Bags directly, which makes it the best way to target specific higher-quality tiers.
Echo of Fate is capped at 3,000 per week, which is enough to pick up the Pro and Advanced bags on offer. This is a time-limited seasonal event, so the exact store stock rotates when a new season starts.
Path of Glory tier rewards
The second Season option is the Path of Glory progression track. Enable it before a run to earn progression based on how you perform, then hit the milestone tiers to claim bags for free.

Crafting, quests, and mail
You can also craft Combat Bags at your camp using resources you gather. Crafting takes time to finish, so queue a new bag whenever you log off or step away, and keep the queue running to always have fresh bags waiting. Camp upgrades that shorten production timers make this loop faster.
A few one-off and event sources round things out:
- The Pip’s Provision quest gives new Gyldhunters a free Combat Bag as starter supplies. Just claim it from Pip.
- Combat Bags can drop as world loot during runs.
- In-game mail and events have handed out bags directly, including Advanced and Pro deliveries, with event rewards ranging from Novice up to Elite.
How to confirm and manage your stock
New bags land in the Warehouse under the Combat Bag tab, so check there to confirm a reward or craft came through. There is no overall cap on how many you can hold, but individual tiers have limits, and the Novice bag stops storing once you hit 10.
Bags are bound to you. They cannot be sold, traded, or turned into currency. Because a bag is only consumed on map entry, hold rarer Advanced, Pro, and Elite loadouts for tougher raids and burn Novice bags on routine farming runs. Send the Scavenger Squad every hour, keep a craft queued, and clear the Fate Chart and Path of Glory each season, and you will rarely start a run empty-handed.
