The Division 2 Into the Dark Scout 8: How to Complete the Week 8 Manhunt

Clear all three Scout 8 objectives in East Mall to finish Week 8 and set up the final Into the Dark climax.

Clear all three Scout 8 objectives in East Mall to finish Week 8 and set up the final Into the Dark climax.

Scout 8 is the Week 8 step of the Into the Dark Manhunt in The Division 2, and it is one of the lighter weeks in the season. All three objectives sit in the East Mall district, and none of them require the Dark Zone. Finish the set and you move straight into the season’s final High-Value Target step.

Quick answer: Complete one Public Execution in East Mall, capture three Control Points in East Mall, then finish any two friendly Open World activities. The objectives unlock one after another, so do them in that order.

Each objective is hidden behind a clue, but the intent is straightforward once you know the target activity. You can run everything on whatever world difficulty you like. Higher difficulty pays out better rewards, but it is not required to trigger completion.

Complete one Public Execution in East Mall

The first objective asks for a single Public Execution inside East Mall. These events show up as red icons on the map, where enemies are holding and executing captured civilians. You only need one, and any difficulty counts.

Open the map, look across East Mall for a red hostage icon, and travel to it. If none is showing, clear a nearby activity or restart the session to refresh open-world events.
Move in, kill every enemy in the area, and free the civilians. Once the fight is over, speak with the rescued NPCs to close out the event.
Public Hostages in The Division 2
Free the hostages and clear every enemy to complete the Public Execution.

Note: if you die mid-event, the Public Execution can disappear and you will have to find another one. Capturing a Control Point nearby gives you a fast-travel point so you can reach these events quickly.

Capture three Control Points in East Mall

The second objective is three Control Point captures, all within East Mall. They can be three different points or the same point retaken three times, as long as every capture happens in this district. There are four to pick from.

East Mall Control Points
Metro Ruins
Solar Farm
Sinkhole
Crash Site
Head to one of the four Control Points and request allied support before you start the assault. Backup makes the fight much easier on higher difficulties.
Clear the first wave of enemies. A second group led by a boss will spawn to defend the point, so hold the position through that phase.
Once the defense wave is beaten, the point is captured. Repeat this two more times anywhere in East Mall to finish the objective.

Beat the defense wave to lock in each Control Point capture.

Complete two friendly Open World activities

The final objective is two friendly Open World activities, and these are not locked to East Mall. Friendly activities show up as green icons on the map rather than the usual red ones. A weapon escort is one of the most reliable to spot and finish quickly.

If no green icon appears, restarting the game refreshes the open-world spawns and gives you another chance at one. Complete any two of these friendly activities and the Scout 8 set is done.

How to confirm Scout 8 is complete

Open the map and select the Manhunt tab, sitting between Projects and Bounties, to track your progress. Each objective is checked off as you clear it, and finishing the third one marks Scout 8 as completed with its rewards and collectible. From there, the Week 9 High-Value Target step opens up, carrying you into the Into the Dark climax mission.

If an objective refuses to advance, the usual cause is running the wrong activity type. Only Public Executions count for objective one, only East Mall captures count for objective two, and objective three needs friendly (green) activities rather than hostile ones. Match the activity to the objective and the counter moves.
