The Turkey is a Rare farming pet in Grow a Garden 2, tied entirely to the Fall Harvest event. It roams your plot, pecks at the dirt, and occasionally digs up a free seed. That makes it a cheap way to expand a young Fall Harvest farm without spending anything extra on the Seed Shop.

Quick answer: Warp to Fall Harvest World through Ethan the Explorer, watch for the Turkey to appear on the map (1% spawn chance), walk up to it, and buy it for 100,000 Leaves before the event ends on September 30, 2026.

How to get the Turkey in Grow a Garden 2

The Turkey only sells inside Fall Harvest World, and it is a wild spawn rather than a fixed shop slot. Each time you load into the event map, there is a 1% chance the Turkey shows up as a purchasable pet somewhere on the overworld. When it appears, buying it is as simple as walking over and interacting with it.

Talk to Ethan the Explorer in the main game to warp over to Fall Harvest World. This is the only route into the event map where the Turkey can spawn.
Build up your Leaves. Leaves is the Fall Harvest currency, earned by growing and selling the event’s Maple-themed crops on a fresh farm. Reaching the 100,000 you need usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes of farming.
Look for the Turkey on the event overworld and interact with it to open the purchase. Pay the 100,000 Leaves to add it to your pets. If the pet does not appear, rejoin the map to roll the 1% spawn chance again.

Because the price is low and the ability is genuinely useful, the Turkey is often one of the first pets players pick up during the event.

What the Turkey does

The Turkey struts around your garden and pecks the ground to dig up a random seed. The passive has a 1% chance to trigger each second, so on average it activates roughly once every 100 seconds. After it successfully digs one up, the Turkey goes into a 5-second cooldown before it can find another spot.

The seeds it pulls come from the Fall Harvest version of the Seed Shop. Low-rarity seeds are far more common than high-rarity ones, so treat the Turkey as a steady trickle of basic planting stock rather than a jackpot machine. That trickle still adds up for a small event farm that needs more crops in the ground.

You can confirm it is working by watching the pet peck at the dirt and drop a seed into your inventory during a run.

Turkey vs Squirrel for seed digging

The Turkey shares its seed-digging role with the Squirrel, a Legendary pet. The two behave the same way, but the Turkey costs a fraction of the price, which makes it the value pick for players who mainly want extra seeds.

PetRarityPriceRole
TurkeyRare100,000 LeavesDigs up random seeds
SquirrelLegendary1,200,000 LeavesDigs up random seeds

At roughly 12 times cheaper, the Turkey is the cost-efficient option unless the Squirrel turns out to have a noticeably faster dig rate in-game.

Big Turkey and Huge Turkey mutations

Like other pets, the Turkey can rarely spawn with a pet mutation. There are two tiers, Big and Huge, and each boosts the pet’s passive effect. The Big variant roughly doubles a pet’s passive value, and the Huge variant is rarer still. The exact odds are very low, and the precise Huge Turkey values have not been finalized.

Availability deadline

The Fall Harvest event ends on September 30, 2026. When it closes, everything tied to it becomes unobtainable, including the Turkey. If you want the pet, grab it while Fall Harvest World is still live and you can still spend Leaves.
