A full rundown of all 24 named Sprites, their powers, rarity tiers, drop sources, and the 109 collectible variants.

Sprites are Fortnite’s little in-match companions, and they do a lot more than sit on your shoulder. Equip one during a game, and it grants a special Sprite Power that can shift how you heal, move, fight, or open loot. There are 24 named Sprites right now, spread across Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic tiers, and 109 separate collectible entries once you count every visual treatment.

Quick answer: Find a Sprite in a match, keep it equipped, and let it level up as you explore, eliminate players, and survive the Storm. Its power gets stronger as it levels, and banking it before you die is what locks it into your collection.

What Sprites do during a match

Each Sprite has one identity, one rarity, and one power. You pick it up on the map, keep it with you, and it develops its perk the longer it stays alive with you. The catch is that a Sprite only counts toward your collection once you bank it. If you get eliminated before that happens, the Sprite drops on the battlefield, and another player can grab it.

That two-sided design is the whole point. A Sprite is useful in the moment for its power, and it doubles as a longer collection target you chase across matches.

Rarity breakdown

The 24 named Sprites split cleanly across four tiers. Rarity tracks with how strong or situational the power tends to be, with the Mythic group holding the flashiest effects like the John Wick reveal and Batman’s Bat Cape.

Variants and treatments

This is where the count jumps from 24 to 109. Each named Sprite can appear in special visual treatments, and each one is tracked as its own collectible. Not every Sprite supports every treatment, so what shows up on a given Sprite depends on which combinations exist for it.

TreatmentNotes
NormalThe base version of the Sprite
GoldCommon premium treatment across most Sprites
GummyCommon premium treatment across most Sprites
GalaxyCommon premium treatment across most Sprites
HolofoilAvailable on select Sprites
CubeAvailable on select Sprites
QuackRare treatment on a few Sprites
GemCurrently tied to the Llama Sprite

Some Sprites carry just one entry and no extra treatments at all. Burnt Peanut, Pollo, Vini Jr., and John Wick each exist only as a single Normal version, which is part of what makes them tough completion targets.

Named total vs. full collection

“All Sprites” means two different numbers, and it’s easy to mix them up. Finding every named companion is one milestone. Owning every treatment of every companion is a much bigger one.

  • 24 named Sprites, from Water and Fire up to Zero Point and John Wick.
  • 109 total variant entries once every Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Holofoil, Cube, Quack, and Gem treatment is counted separately.

You can hit “every named Sprite” and still be missing dozens of treatments. Completion hunters track those individually rather than by name.

How to bank a Sprite and confirm it’s yours

Pick up a Sprite from a chest or its listed source and keep it equipped for the match. It travels with you and starts building its power.
Level it up by exploring, getting eliminations, and outlasting the Storm. Higher levels sharpen its perk, and some Sprites only unlock their best effect at max level.
Bank the Sprite before you’re eliminated. If you go down first, the Sprite stays on the ground for another player to claim, and it won’t count as yours. A successfully banked Sprite registers in your collection.

Note: Availability shifts with live updates and limited events. Some Sprites are tied to specific sources like DC Summer Quests or Vault keycards, so a companion you can chase this week may rotate as the game changes. When a Sprite isn’t showing as obtainable, it usually means its source event or drop pool isn’t active right now.
