Crafting in Aion 2 turns the materials you pull from Essence Extraction into weapons, armor, accessories, consumables, and the refined parts that feed every other recipe. It is also the path to best-in-slot gear: crafted equipment carries five Soul Bind slots instead of the four on dungeon drops, rolls stronger substats, and keeps upgrading through Transfer Crafting so it does not go obsolete when a new tier arrives.
Quick answer: Aion 2 has five crafting professions that each level from 1 to 100 on their own. Craft a base piece, hope a Combo procs its Splendent version, then feed that Splendent result into the next recipe all the way up to the Dragon Lord sets.

The five crafting professions and what they make
One character can learn all five. Each profession tracks its own proficiency, separate from Essence Extraction, and every recipe charges zero Kinah to craft.
| Profession | Equipment | Refined materials |
|---|---|---|
| Blacksmithing | Greatswords, longswords, daggers, maces, guards | Orichalcum Ingots, Balaur Horns |
| Armorsmithing | All seven armor slots plus cloaks | Orichalcum Ingots, tanned Balaur Leather |
| Handicrafting | Bows, staves, rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets | Processed wood, gem decorations, Balaur Scales |
| Alchemy | Spellbooks, orbs, potions, scrolls, Manastones, Soulstones | Powders, paper, Balaur Scales |
| Cooking | Buff food and drinks | Rank-up seasonings |
Your class decides which weapon profession matters. Blacksmithing covers Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, and Cleric weapons plus guards; Handicrafting makes the Ranger’s bow and the Chanter’s staff; Alchemy makes the Sorcerer’s spellbook and the Spiritmaster’s orb. Armorsmithing and the jewelry side of Handicrafting are class-neutral, so nothing you make there is wasted.
Recipes become available as your mastery increases, so the standard selection requires no recipe-book hunting. Elyos craft at Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village in Verteron, while Asmodians work at Safe Haven and Nornir Assembly in Altgard. The factions’ recipe names differ, but their items share stats and item levels.

Add to Google Preferences →How a craft resolves: success rate and the Splendent combo
Every recipe has its own base success rate. When your proficiency matches the recipe’s requirement, you sit near that base, and pushing proficiency above the requirement raises the number. The Artisan’s Splendent Orichalcum Guard, for example, lists an 79.6% base success at Blacksmithing mastery 35, and the Splendent Star Dragon Lord Guard sits at 80.1% at mastery 60. If a craft fails, you lose the materials, so the gap between success and failure is what you are really leveling.
On a successful craft, a Combo can trigger. The Combo swaps the normal output for the Splendent version, which is one grade and tier higher, and it has roughly a 25% chance on most gear. That Splendent result is not a bonus. It is the mandatory ingredient for the next recipe in the line, so climbing a gear ladder means rolling until the Combo lands, then feeding the result forward.
Take care not to vendor or salvage a Splendent piece. If you lose one, you must attempt the Combo again using a new set of materials.

The crafted gear ladder, Orichalcum to Dragon Lord
Every gear line follows the same shape. Here is the longsword chain as the template. Mastery numbers shift a little between slots (rings start at 3, earrings at 5, necklaces at 10), but the grades and item levels are the same everywhere.
| Item | Grade | Item level | How to make it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 18 | Mastery 3 craft | |
| Rare | 22 | Combo from the craft above | |
| Rare | 28 | Mastery 15, needs the Splendent | |
| Epic | 39 | Mastery 30, needs Expert’s Splendent | |
| Unique | 44 | Combo from the craft above | |
| True / Star Dragon Lord Longsword | Unique | 62 | Mastery 55, needs Artisan’s Splendent |
| Splendent True / Star Dragon Lord | Unique | 70 | Combo or Transfer Crafting |
| White / Dark Dragon Lord | Unique | 78 | Transfer Crafting |
| Wise / Ebony Dragon Lord | Unique | 94 | Transfer Crafting |
| Splendent Wise / Ebony Dragon Lord | Unique | 102 | Combo or Transfer Crafting |
The Dragon Lord progression covers nine weapon types, all seven armor slots, plus necklaces, earrings, and rings. Bracelets stop at the Pilgrim Bracelet (Epic, item level 43). No crafting recipes are available for belts, runes, amulets, or Arcana.
The numbers climb hard at the top. The Artisan’s Splendent Orichalcum Guard at item level 44 lands 90 Attack, the 11th highest value among the 83 Guard items. The Splendent Star Dragon Lord Guard at item level 70 reaches 144 Attack, the 5th highest of those 83.

Transfer Crafting: upgrading Dragon Lord gear without losing progress
The first Dragon Lord tier, True or Star, is crafted normally, so the attempt may fail and consume its materials. Each tier after that is obtained through Transfer Crafting: the item you own is reforged into the next tier. These upgrades cannot fail, and the new item keeps the original’s enhancement, amplification, and Soul Binding levels before becoming bound to you.
The White/Dark and Wise/Ebony recipes also ask for another Artisan’s Splendent piece of the same type alongside exotic materials like Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, and Wrathful Ego. A worked example: if the Star Dragon Lord Guard craft does not Combo into its Splendent version, you can enhance the gold guard, soul bind it, then transfer it into a +7 Splendent Star Dragon Lord Guard using the guard plus 11 Fine Thick Balaur Horns and 4 Wrathful Mind, keeping the plus level and bindings intact.

Transfer Crafting is not the same as Equipment Transfer. Transfer Crafting makes the next item through a recipe; Equipment Transfer moves upgrades between two existing items using a Transfer Stone (Unique), which works on Unique gear and carries that boundless power from one piece to another.

Substance Morph: converting materials and unlocking locked items
Substance Morph is a separate conversion system you open with Alt + H. It takes items you have and turns them into items you want, and it does not replace the Splendent ingredients a gear recipe needs. The screen shows what you can morph right now at the top, with the material list and success chance for each entry. Many conversions sit at 100%.
What it covers, across its tabs:
- Stacking lower consumables into higher ones, such as 150 Power Shard plus 30 Enhance Stone into 10 Abyssal Power Shard.
- Refining gathering materials up a grade. Pure and Radiant ores require Blacksmithing proficiency to attempt.
- Transformation candy, which needs the matching Morph Method design plus an essence and 3 Odyle.
- Higher-tier wings like Sealing Wings and Glorious Wings, built from Sealed Wing Featherdown and Pure Odyle.
- Decor, Pantheon statues and artwork, merit medals, and weapon or gear selection chests.
Some items only exist through Substance Morph, including the Noble Belt tiers, the Revelation Amulet, several wing sets, and the Abyssal Forge selection chests. The refined materials you make here, like Radiant Orichalcum Ore for metal gear, Radiant Yggdrasil Log for bows and staves, and Radiant Ruby Gemstone for accessories, feed straight back into your crafting benches.

The candy is a quick example of the design gate. Mau Transformation Candy morphs from Mau’s Essence and 3 Odyle at 100% success, but only once you own the Morph Method design; the candy then transforms you into a Mau for 900 seconds.

Leveling a profession from Novice 1 to Professional 50
Proficiency spans 1–100 in two ranks: Novice runs from 1 to 50, and Professional from 51 to 100. That makes Professional Level 5 equivalent to proficiency 55. Reaching Novice 50 blocks further progress until you complete the promotion quest for your profession. For Blacksmithing, that means Upgrade: Blacksmithing Specialty Skill and a Novice Blacksmith’s Hammer, crafted with 6 Orichalcum Ingots and 3 Odyle.
To spend materials well while leveling:
- Focus one profession first, usually your class weapon, then Handicrafting for accessories. Spreading thin early just burns materials on failures.
- Craft singles, not the 10x batch, on cheap refinement materials. Ten individual crafts grant more proficiency experience than one batch of ten.
- Check the market before gambling on Combos. If finished Splendent intermediates are cheap, buying them beats rolling a 25% proc with expensive refining stones.
- After promotion at Novice 50, feed your Artisan’s Splendent piece into the first Dragon Lord recipe and switch to Transfer Crafting for the tiers above.
Crafting never fully replaces dungeons, since the Unique steps lean on materials like Wrathful Mind that drop from group content. But the five extra Soul Bind slots, the cleaner substat rolls, and a Transfer Crafting path that carries your enhancement levels forward are what keep a crafted set relevant long after a quest reward or dungeon drop has fallen behind.
