Empyrean Trace: Verteron is the glowing feather pickup scattered across the Elyos home region in AION 2. On its own, it does nothing. Its only job is to be resonated at the Verteron Monolith, which raises the Monolith’s Resonance Level. That progress gives you permanent Empyrean Lord stats, Revelation Amulet Enhance Scrolls, titles and other upgrade materials.
Quick answer: Finish the level 10 quest Empyrean Monolith from Jackson at Dawn Legion Base. Then collect traces at any of Verteron’s 560 map-marked spots and sync them at the Verteron Monolith.

Empyrean Trace: Verteron item details
The item description calls it a faint remnant of the power of the Empyrean Lords who guard Verteron, and says it can only be resonated with the Verteron Monolith. It is Elyos-only. Asmodians have their own version, Empyrean Trace: Altgard, which works only at the Altgard Monolith. Neither faction can resonate at Monoliths on the enemy continent.

The Verteron Monolith has 30 Resonance Levels. Each level costs a set number of traces, and later levels cost more. Every level-up pays out a fixed reward, with no randomness involved. Rewards fall into these groups:
- Empyrean Lord attributes: permanent Life, Destiny, Time, Space, Justice, Destruction, Freedom, Death, Illusion and Wisdom increases
- Revelation Amulet Enhance Scrolls for upgrading the Revelation Amulet
- Hidden Cube Keys for opening Hidden Cubes
- Soul Codex: Reset
- Unique Amplify Stone Fragments for later gear Amplification
- Titles at major Resonance Level milestones
The titles arrive at three points along the track:
| Resonance Level | Title |
|---|---|
| 10 | Inquirer |
| 20 | Guardian of Verteron |
| 30 | Saint of Verteron (Unique) |
The steady flow of Revelation Amulet Enhance Scrolls is the reason Verteron traces stay useful long after the leveling phase. The amulet is meant to stay with your character through several progression stages. Each enhancement level raises its Penetration, so every scroll from the Monolith goes into gear you won’t replace.

Unlock requirement: the Empyrean Monolith quest
Resonance is locked until you finish the Episode quest Empyrean Monolith. It becomes available at level 10, and its recommended level is 16. For Elyos, the quest starts with Jackson, the Monolith’s keeper at Dawn Legion Base in Verteron. It walks you through the whole loop once. You pick up your first trace, resonate it, and receive your first Revelation Amulet Enhance Scroll. Then you report back to Jackson.

The same quest also unlocks the Eltnen Monolith and your faction’s Ereshkigal’s Monolith in Reshanta. Each of those Monoliths uses its own trace item, so Verteron traces never count toward them.
How to get Empyrean Trace: Verteron
Empyrean Trace: Verteron comes from gathering. There are no drops, vendors or crafting recipes for it. Verteron has 560 trace spots. Each one is a fixed object in the world, and each one is marked on your map. The collection rules are simple:
- Spots appear on the world map and minimap. The map filter has two toggles for them: Empyrean Trace and Empyrean Trace – Collection Complete.
- Interacting with a spot starts a 2.5-second “Retrieving…” cast. The traces go straight into your inventory.
- No key, item or fee is needed.
- Each spot can be used once per character and never respawns.
Not every spot is on the ground. Of Verteron’s 560 spots, 389 sit on the ground, 121 float in the air, and 50 are underwater. You need wings to reach the airborne spots, and you have to swim down for the underwater ones.
Verteron trace spots by area
The spots are spread across 27 areas. Ground spots make up the rest of each row’s total.
| Area | Spots | In the air | Underwater |
|---|---|---|---|
| Altamia Canyon | 42 | 5 | 13 |
| Eternal Isle | 40 | 10 | 0 |
| Kraka Footpath | 37 | 8 | 7 |
| Zumion Village | 31 | 9 | 0 |
| Drana Plantation | 31 | 9 | 0 |
| Nahid Brigade Fortress | 30 | 14 | 0 |
| Ellun River Midstream | 26 | 2 | 3 |
| Garden of the Illusion God | 26 | 10 | 0 |
| Aullaeu Village | 26 | 5 | 1 |
| Forest of Exiles | 25 | 5 | 7 |
| Scarlet Forest | 23 | 8 | 0 |
| Western Cantas Valley | 22 | 1 | 7 |
| Ellun River Marsh | 21 | 3 | 0 |
| Dawn Legion Base | 20 | 4 | 0 |
| Crimson Isle | 20 | 6 | 0 |
| Western Altamia Highland | 19 | 5 | 4 |
| Verteron Fortress Ruins | 17 | 2 | 0 |
| Eastern Altamia Highland | 16 | 3 | 0 |
| Eastern Cantas Valley | 15 | 2 | 3 |
| Southern Tolbas Forest | 14 | 1 | 0 |
| Pilgrim’s Ridge | 13 | 2 | 1 |
| Northern Tolbas Forest | 13 | 2 | 0 |
| Eastern Tolbas Forest | 9 | 1 | 4 |
| Southern Altamia Highland | 8 | 1 | 0 |
| Ellun River Meadow | 7 | 1 | 0 |
| Tolbas Forest | 7 | 2 | 0 |
| Aullaeu Funeral Island | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Altamia Canyon contains more underwater locations than any other area, while Nahid Brigade Fortress leads in aerial spots. Bring wings to both. You should also be prepared to dive at Altamia Canyon, Western Cantas Valley, Kraka Footpath and Forest of Exiles.
You don’t have to sweep all 560 spots in one go. The map marks completed spots separately, so picking up traces that sit along your quest routes adds up without any extra trips.

Resonating traces at the Verteron Monolith
Verteron has two Monoliths, one at Dawn Legion Base and one at Zumion Village. Both accept Empyrean Trace: Verteron.
You can confirm the sync worked in three ways. The Resonance Level in the Monolith window goes up. The traces leave your inventory. The level’s reward items and stats are added to your character. The Resonance Level Up Rewards Info menu shows what every level pays out, all the way to Lv. 30, so you can check how far the next title is.
Once the Monolith reaches its maximum level, extra Empyrean Trace: Verteron isn’t wasted. You can turn leftover traces into upgrade materials through Substance Morphing, so every spot is still worth picking up after the reward track is finished.
