AION 2: How to Hide the UI with the F12 Keybind

AION 2 keeps hotbars, quest trackers, chat, and party frames on screen at all times, which is fine in combat but distracting when you want a clean shot of the world. The game bundles a single toggle that clears everything at once, plus separate options for hiding floating damage numbers and your own account details.

Quick answer: Press F12 to hide or show the entire interface. You can view or change that key under Settings, then Key Settings, then the Menu sub-tab, then Hide UI.

Hide the full UI with F12

Hide UI is already mapped to F12 by default, so the fastest route is to press that key in the game world. If nothing happens, or you want the toggle on a different key, follow the menu path below to confirm or remap it.

Open the main in-game menu, then click the Settings cogwheel in the bottom-right corner.

Select the Key Settings tab, which is the second tab along the top of the Settings screen. It opens on the General sub-tab showing movement controls.

Switch to the Menu sub-tab and scroll to Hide UI. It sits alongside entries like Cancel, Display Cursor, Map, and Cube, and shows F12 as its bound key.

Set a different binding by clicking the Hide UI field, then pressing your chosen key or combo—for example, Alt + Z or Ctrl + U. Save the settings before exiting the menu.

Return to the game world and press F12 (or your new key). The entire interface disappears for a clean view, and pressing the same key again brings it all back. That on/off switch is how you confirm it worked.

Hide floating damage numbers instead

If you want to keep your hotbars and map but drop the combat numbers flying over enemies, that lives in a different menu. Open Settings, go to Info Display, then open the Floater tab. From there you can turn off individual readouts rather than the whole interface.

The Floater tab includes toggles for each type of number you might see:

Combat Floater Display
Damage on Me and Heal on Me
Damage on Target and Heal on Target
Damage on My Spirit and Heal on My Spirit

Related nameplate and range options sit under the Combat and Common tabs in the same Info Display area if you also want to thin out overhead text.

Hide your account and character name for streaming

Streamer Mode masks personal details so viewers cannot read your account status or character name. Open Settings, go to the Miscellaneous tab on the far right, and make sure the Account sub-tab is selected.

Under the Streamer Mode section there are two switches. Turning Hide Account Info on changes your Current Account to Private. Turning Hide Character Name – Display as ‘Player’ on replaces your username with @Player, both in menus and on your overhead name tag. Step back into the world and check that your name reads @Player to confirm the change took effect.

Between the F12 toggle for a fully clean screen, the Floater tab for combat numbers, and Streamer Mode for personal details, you can strip out exactly as much of the interface as you need and bring it back with a single key.
