Sapphire is a gem resource in Aion 2 that feeds crafting recipes in Handicrafting and Alchemy. You gather it with Essence Extraction, and the raw gems come out at several rarities, from Common all the way up to Unique. The nodes are spread across four regions, but which ones you can reach depends on your faction and on which version of the game you play.
Quick answer: Raise Essence Extraction to at least Novice Level 40, then loop Sapphire nodes near the Scarlet Forest Observation Site in Verteron (Elyos) or southwest of Sanctum Outpost in Altgard (Asmodian). Nodes respawn in about four minutes.
Sapphire gathering requirements and node rules
Sapphire veins are Novice-grade gem nodes, and you collect from them using the Essence Extraction skill. Below Novice Level 40, the extraction minigame fails often enough that your runs waste charges and time, so treat that level as the real entry point.
- Skill used: Essence Extraction, on Novice-grade gem nodes.
- Level: at least Novice Level 40 for reliable extraction.
- Charges: each node holds 3, so three attempts before it depletes.
- Respawn: roughly 4 minutes, enough to cycle a short loop.
Because a node refreshes in about four minutes, a tight circuit of a dozen or so nodes keeps you gathering continuously. By the time you finish the last node in a loop, the first one is ready again.
Where Sapphire nodes spawn across the regions
There are 579 Sapphire nodes in total, concentrated in two regions you can reach on the global version and two more that are not open there yet.

Eltnen and Morheim arrive with the Chapter 1 update (levels 45 to 50). They are live in Korea and Taiwan but not on the global version as of October 2026, so most players will be farming in Verteron or Altgard.
Elyos Sapphire routes in Verteron
Verteron holds 192 Sapphire nodes, and they cluster densely enough to run a loop without downtime. Teleport to the Scarlet Forest Observation Site and start there, since the first nodes sit only a short walk away.
- Scarlet Forest Observation Site — the entry point, with nodes a few steps from the statue.
- Pilgrim’s Ridge — around 60 nodes strung along the ridge.
- Ellun River Midstream — one of the denser pockets, good for closing the loop while earlier nodes reset.
Once Eltnen opens on your version, the desert around Fractured Land carries most of that region’s Sapphire, with Kuriullu Valley as a quieter alternative when the main spots are crowded.
Asmodian Sapphire routes in Altgard
Altgard has the most Sapphire of any region at 200 nodes. A clean circuit runs along the cliff edge southwest of Sanctum Outpost, where about a dozen nodes rotate free of nearby monsters.
Flying between the markers keeps the loop fast, and the respawn timer means the early nodes are back by the time you reach the end of the line. Use the minimap to track the next glowing node so you are never searching.
Beyond this loop, Lagta Fortress is one of Altgard’s richer stretches and pairs well with the Sanctum Outpost run, while Dranactus and Black Claw Village add extra nodes to extend the route.
Once Morheim becomes available, most Sapphire appears in Nephra Snowfield, roughly 60 meters from the teleport statue at Destroyed Fafnium Site; further nodes are tucked against Halabana Canyon’s walls.
What a Sapphire node yields
A single Sapphire node can drop four grades of gem plus a bonus material. Each successful extraction returns one gem, and the rarity depends on luck and your skill setup.

The base Sapphire Gemstone can be used from required level 15, sells for 5 Kina at a merchant, and can be traded. It goes into Handicrafting accessory recipes and the Sapphire Decoration material, and the higher grades such as Radiant Sapphire Gemstone feed advanced Alchemy recipes.
How to pull Epic and Unique Sapphire
Higher-grade gems come from the Appraisal Boost effect in your specialization tree. Open the skill window with Alt + F, go to the Essence Extraction tree, and find the Gems branch.
Two other Gems-branch skills smooth out the grind. Gem Seeker marks nodes on your minimap so you stop wandering, and Plentiful Harvest gives a chance to double the yield from a single attempt. If you spread your points and change your mind, you can respec at any time for a Kina fee.
If the nodes run dry
When a route is picked clean and you still need gems, Substance Morph in the Kina Chest lets you create Sapphire from Odyle of the same grade. It is a fallback rather than a main source, but it keeps a recipe moving when the open world is crowded.
You know your gathering is working when the extraction bar fills and the Sapphire Gemstone lands in your bag, and your Essence Extraction proficiency ticks up as you go. Once Appraisal is leveled, watch for the Appraisal Boost prompt on a node, which is the sign a higher-grade gem is in play.
