In Aion 2, Spacetime Rifts let you travel into the rival faction’s lands. Asmodians can use them to enter Verteron, home of the Elyos, while Elyos can travel to Altgard. Their appearances follow a schedule, their access period is brief, and they connect to quests that can be completed only in enemy territory.

Quick answer: Reach level 45, accept all seven rift quests from Uru in Altgard or Mino in Verteron, then enter the purple portal within its 10-minute window to reach the enemy map for one hour.

Level 45 requirement and the seven rift quests

You will start seeing rift portals at level 45, the global level cap at present. Before reaching that level, they are absent from your world, even if higher-level players nearby can see and enter them.

At level 45, seven rift quests for your region become available under Regional Quests in your journal. The two factions have separate quest sets, and you cannot accept quests belonging to the other side. Take every quest before entering a portal; their objectives count only in enemy territory, and your time there is limited.

For Asmodians, Uru at Altgard’s Collapsed Chasm offers the questline. Elyos should visit Mino at Verteron’s Dawn Legion Temporary Outpost. Pick up all seven quests during that visit, then search for a portal.

The first quest in either faction’s series is completed as soon as you pass through a portal. Remaining tasks involve collecting items or defeating particular creatures in enemy territory. For instance, Uru’s “Difference Between Here and There,” requires thread from nine Aullaeu Forest Odyle Spiders, while “Developing Travel Goods” asks you to kill nine Highland Sparkie insects while scouting the local wildlife.

Rift schedule, entry window, and time inside

A new rift appears every 3 hours, and its event lasts one hour. You can enter through the portal only during the hour’s opening 10 minutes; if you miss that period, you’ll need to wait for the following cycle. After entering, you have an hour in enemy territory before the game sends you back automatically.

ServerOpening times (server time)

Korea / Taiwan02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00, 23:00

The Korea service uses GMT+9, while Taiwan uses GMT+8, putting their rift schedules one hour apart. Compare your local time with the server clock and get ready ahead of the scheduled start. Community timer sites can show a live countdown and play audio alerts as reminders.

Where rifts spawn and how to spot the icon

A portal’s location changes from cycle to cycle, appearing at a random point in the zone, so you cannot wait at a single spot for it. When one opens, a message goes out server-wide with the banner “A Spacetime Rift has appeared,” and its map marker is a purple spiral icon.

You won’t see the marker on the full-zone view. Turn on the map’s Content filter—the control also used for Empyrean Trace feathers—then zoom into the sub-regions to reveal it.

A portal can admit only a few hundred players. At capacity, it shuts and a replacement appears elsewhere on the map. Unlock all fast-travel points in your region in advance, then keep searching for an open portal; each region has a set of possible spawn locations.

How to reach and enter the rift

Watch for the countdown or the in-game broadcast “A Spacetime Rift has appeared.” The moment it fires, open your regional map.

Zoom in across the sub-regions until the purple rift icon appears. It will not show on the zoomed-out overview, so keep tightening the view over areas such as Purifying Forest.

Travel quickly to the closest teleport shelter or flight point—for example, Briskwind Shelter—to get as near to the marker as you can.
Take off on a mount or glider and head straight for the rift waypoint. On the ground, the portal looks like a glowing sphere colored red and black.

Approach the sphere and interact with it. The portal prompt confirms the Level 45 requirement, a one-hour stay allowance, and the remaining entries before you press Enter.

The entry quest advances only when its green marker is visible on the portal. Without that marker, the quest won’t count your entry. Wait until the portal moves, then see if the replacement displays the marker.

Set War Mode before you cross over

Before entering, choose whether you plan to battle the rival faction. War Mode enables PvP during rift runs, but you can adjust it only in your own faction’s territory, and changing it starts a cooldown. If your priority is quest completion and exploration, set War Mode as you want it before you go in.

What to do during your hour inside

You have an hour before the game brings you back, so plan your route. In addition to the regional quests, the enemy map offers several brief activities:

  • Take over Strongholds to earn upgrade scrolls for the Noble Belt.
  • Finish Sealed Dungeons, with each one taking at most a minute.
  • Defeat Field Bosses and use their gear for skins or trade it toward supply requests.
  • With War Mode enabled, you can fight the opposing faction in open PvP.

Place a Kisk in a safe spot so you have a nearby respawn point. Without one, dying sends you back to your home world. Avoid the enemy’s Kibelisks and settlements; guards on patrol there can defeat you with a single hit.

Rift quest rewards

Each rift quest grants experience, Bound Kina, and a Wisdom Stone. It also includes a Daevanion Crystal, with faction-specific extras. Elyos receive a Stigma Shard and 2,000 Abyss Points; their other bonuses are a Facade Ring and the title Altgard Traveler. Asmodians get a Stigma Shard and 2,000 Abyss Points, plus an Outsider Ring and the title Verteron Traveler. Quests also have their own gear and titles.

Confirming the trip worked

Press Enter to load into the opposing faction’s territory. An Asmodian using an Altgard rift arrives at Aullaeu Village in Verteron, and arrival completes the first quest in the set immediately. Complete the other objectives there, then go back to Uru or Mino and turn them in one by one. Once an objective is done, the journal marks its quest complete, with the turn-in dialogue providing confirmation.

If you cleared all seven quests in one trip, you can hand them over on the same return visit, then wait for the next 3-hour cycle to run it again.
