A Sync Stone in AION 2 rerolls one stat on a piece of gear and leaves every other stat alone. It is a bound material for the Sync function inside Soul Binding. You can’t buy it from a shop, sell it, or trade it, so every stone you own came from your own progression.
Quick answer: Get Sync Stones from battle pass rewards, or turn a Gear Change Voucher: Krao Cave (Bound) into one through Substance Morph. Use them in Enhance All → Soul Binding → Sync to reroll a single stat line.

How to get Sync Stones in AION 2
Sync Stones come in two grades, Heroic and Unique. There are also fragments, which work as stepping stones toward full stones. Every version is bound to your character. Each one stacks to 1,000 and needs only character level 1 to hold.
| Item | Grade | Type | How to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heroic | Usable | Battle pass | |
| Unique | Upgrade material | Battle pass, Substance Morph | |
| Unique | Misc | Battle pass | |
| Heroic | Misc | Fragment for Substance Morph |
The Heroic Sync Stone has item level 98 and sits in gear tier t1. Unlike the fragments, it is a usable item. You use it directly in the Sync menu, and it never takes a slot as wearable gear.

Substance Morph and fragments
Substance Morph is where you create full stones. One Gear Change Voucher: Krao Cave (Bound) morphs into one Sync Stone (Unique) (Bound), which has item level 84. Fragments of both grades exist to be turned into whole stones through Substance Morph. Fragments also turn up as Substance Morph results from sanctuary and dungeon content.

There is no crafting recipe for a Sync Stone, and no shop sells one.

What Sync does in Soul Binding
Soul Binding has three functions, and each one changes gear stats in a different way. Sync is the precise one. You pick a single bad stat line, and only that line is rerolled.
| Function | What it changes | Consumes |
|---|---|---|
| Bind | Raises existing stat values toward 100% | Soul Codex and Kinah |
| Reset | Rerolls every bound stat at once | Reset item and Kinah |
| Sync | Rerolls one chosen stat line | Sync Stone or a spare Unique item |
Sync makes sense when four of a piece’s five lines are already what you want. Reset would throw those good lines away, and Bind can only improve the numbers a line already has. Instead of a stone, you can also sacrifice a matching Unique item from the same slot. The sacrificed item is destroyed.
The new line comes from a weighted pool. That pool includes base stats such as Attack and Defense, combat stats such as Critical Hit Resist and Weapon Damage Boost, and class skill levels. For a Cleric, results like Light of Regeneration Lv. +1, Debilitating Mark Lv. +1, Warm Benediction or Earth’s Grace Lv. +1 can appear.

How to use a Sync Stone
A successful Sync can roll the exact stat you were trying to remove, with a different value. In that case you spent the stone and the line may now be weaker.

Sync rules: grade, gear and transfers
- Only Unique gear can be synced. Rare gear can’t be synced or used as material.
- Match the stone grade to the gear grade. A lower-grade stone has a much lower success chance.
- A Unique stone used on Heroic gear is wasted value.
- Soul Binding results carry over when you transfer enhancement to new gear.
- Extra Philosopher’s Stone slots do not carry over in a transfer.
Because Soul Binding moves with an enhancement transfer, sync gear that will feed into your long-term pieces. Don’t spend stones on gear you replace every few dungeons. Hold onto spare Unique items from world drops and dungeons as backup material. Extract white, green and blue items instead, since they can never be used for Sync.
