All Star Tower Defense: How to Get Legacy Coins and Best Legacy Shop Units

Legacy Coins come from deep Star Pass tiers, and only a handful of Legacy Token Shop units are worth spending them on.

Legacy Coins are the only way back to Star Pass units you missed. They are not dropped by enemies, they are not sold for gems, and no code hands them out. They sit near the very end of the Star Pass in All Star Tower Defense, and you spend them in the Legacy Token Shop on units from past passes.

Quick answer: Push the Star Pass to Tier 99. The Free path gives 2 Legacy Coins there, and the Premium path gives 2 more, for 4 total if you own both. Then open the Legacy Token Shop and buy 4-star units only.

Where Legacy Coins come from in the Star Pass

The Star Pass now runs on three separate paths, and Legacy Tokens sit at tiers 98–99 on each of them. The Free path is unlocked the moment you start playing. Premium is unlocked through Banner Z or Robux, and the All Star path is Robux only. Free and Premium are the ones that carry units and the Legacy Coin rewards you actually care about.

Past Tier 100, every extra tier you earn pays out 7 Stardust and 200 gems per path, so there is still a reason to keep grinding after the coins are claimed.

How to reach Tier 99 and claim Legacy Coins

Launch All Star Tower Defense and open the Star Pass menu from the lobby. This is where every tier, reward icon, and Claim button lives.

Earn EXP by playing normally. Story, Infinite, and repeat clears all feed the pass, and EXP scales with how far you push a run.
Open Tasks and check the Event quests tab. These are update-unit specific quests built to grant extra Star Pass levels, and they are the fastest way to close the gap to Tier 99.
Scroll the tier track until you hit the high nineties. The Legacy Coin icons appear on both the Free and Premium rows near the end of the track.

If you want all four coins, unlock the Premium path with the Get Now! button on the Star Pass screen. Without it, the Premium row stays locked and you cap out at 2 coins.

Hit Claim on the Tier 99 rewards. You know it worked when the Claim button greys out and your Legacy Coin balance shows up in the Legacy Token Shop.

Note: if the coins never appear, it is almost always one of two things. Either you have not actually crossed Tier 99, or the Premium path is still locked and you are only seeing the Free reward.

Best Legacy Token Shop units to buy

Four coins does not go far, and the shop is stocked with a long list of retired Star Pass units at wildly different power levels. Rarity is the shortcut here. Buy 4-star units, and treat everything below that as filler.

The rest of the stock is a mix of names like Airren (Doomsday), Pirate King, Whitestache (Prime), Captain (Final), Markswoman (Furious), Exorcist (DemonLord), Sword Saint, and Dark Knight. They are fine to browse, but nothing there beats spending a coin on Boo (Kid) or Ant King (Awakened) first.

Why 2-star Legacy Shop units are not worth a coin

Star rating in this game is not a perfect measure of power, and there are famous exceptions where a 4-star outperforms a 5-star. But at the bottom of the Legacy Token Shop, the pattern holds. The 2-star entries do not hold up in Story or Infinite, and each one you buy costs you a coin you cannot get back until the next pass reaches Tier 99 again.

Since coins only refill through Star Pass progression, treat the shop like a once-per-pass purchase window. Decide your 4-star target before you open it, use the search field to find that unit by name, and leave the rest.
