Alpha Bouldus is the Earth-element Alpha Aniimo of Berylline Vale, and it is the gate on one specific piece of progression: Baleetle cannot evolve into Bouldus until you beat it. The fight itself is short and has one dangerous pattern, so most of the difficulty is getting there with a team that can survive the rolling phase.
Quick answer: Travel to Mudstone Pass Bloom in Berylline Vale and head northeast to the small hill. Dodge the rock-enclosure roll attack, then burst it while it is stunned.
Alpha Bouldus location in Berylline Vale
Berylline Vale sits in Breezy Plains, the first region you explore in Idyll after the Astra opening. The Alpha spawns northeast of Mudstone Pass Bloom, standing on top of a small hill with clear sightlines around it — there is nothing to hide behind, which matters for the roll phase.
If Mudstone Pass Bloom is not unlocked yet, walk into it once to register it as a fast travel point and to reveal the surrounding map. Berylline Vale also hosts the regular Bouldus population, so you will see normal, much smaller versions of the same creature on the way up.

Alpha Aniimo are oversized versions of their normal counterparts with far more health and harder-hitting attacks, and they each have a level floor you should clear before engaging. Build around the counter to Alpha Bouldus’s Earth element rather than bringing your highest-level squad by default.
- One Aniimo that counters Earth, for the bulk of your damage.
- A Break Aniimo to cash in on the post-attack stun window.
- A healer, in case the fight runs long and the roll phase clips you.
- Spare Aniimo to rotate in before anyone is knocked out.
Swap a damaged Aniimo out early rather than riding it to zero. Losing the whole team means restarting the encounter from full.
How to beat Alpha Bouldus
Alpha Bouldus has a thin moveset. Outside of its signature move it throws out ordinary Earth melee pressure, so the entire fight comes down to reading one telegraph and then punishing what follows.
Do not try to trade hits during the roll. There is no reward for staying aggressive inside the enclosure, and the stun afterward gives you a longer free window than anything you would squeeze in.
Catching Alpha Bouldus after the fight
Alphas do not follow the usual capture rules. You never soften one up with an Aniipod mid-battle — you defeat it outright, and only then does the catch prompt appear with a free Aniipod supplied by the game.
Throw it even if you expect the catch to fail. A failed attempt still pays out the first clear rewards; backing out of the catch screen instead gives you nothing and does not refund your Primegy.
Alpha Bouldus rewards and material drops
| Reward | Amount | Type |
|---|---|---|
| x5 | First clear | |
| Safaris | x500 | First clear |
| Glimmer | x50 | First clear |
| x1 | First clear | |
| Lumin Amber: Breezy Plains | x1 | First clear |
| — | Repeat drop |
Loam Stone is the reason to come back. The Lumin Amber feeds Branch upgrades elsewhere in Breezy Plains, and the Irisalis Petal is a one-off, so the repeatable value of the fight is the stone.
Confirming the win: unlocking the Bouldus evolution
Defeating Alpha Bouldus is what unlocks the Baleetle evolution path. Bouldus is No. 58A in the Aniilog, a Nova stage, Earth element Aniimo in the Support role, with base stats of 91 HP, 114 Attack, 52 Break, 114 P.Def, 54 M.Def, and 104 Regen for a 516 base total.

Once the Alpha is down, the evolution needs three more things to line up.
- A Level 39 Baleetle.
- The Peculiar Rock Ball passive talent learned.
- Loam Stone x3 to pay the evolution cost.
Those three Loam Stones come straight out of the Alpha’s drop table, which is why the first clear and the evolution tend to happen in the same session. If the evolution option is still greyed out after the kill, the blocker is the level or the talent, not the Alpha.
Bouldus itself pays the fight back in kind. Its Rock Tackle scatters four Rock Piles around a target, and Boulder Blast generates six more on detonation. Those piles pair with Waleetle’s Stone Ball Drift — a 61-power Rock skill costing 20 EP on a one-second cooldown, stacking 8 percent bonus damage up to four times over 20 seconds — which shatters them to apply Disintegration, cutting Earth Resistance by 6 percent and movement speed by 5 percent per stack, up to six stacks.
