Fly Free! is a Journey quest in Aniimo set in The Argent Strait, where the Bell of Freedom by Crescendo Cliff has gone quiet after the Legendary Windgliders left. Finishing it means rebuilding the band, running two rehearsals, and blooming the bell to collect Freedom’s Breeze.

Quick answer: Talk to the Grumpy Chirpi at The Argent Strait shore, recruit a Cornet, a Tromber, and a Tubster into the Windgliders, complete both rehearsals, then interact with the Bell of Freedom to finish the quest.

How to start Fly Free! in The Argent Strait

The quest begins by following the clue The Missing Windgliders, which points you to the shore of The Argent Strait in the Breezy Plains region. This area sits around level 28–32, so bring a team that can travel comfortably through it.

Head to the broken ruins and climb to the top of the white pedestal. You need to be Twined with a Chirpi to speak with the Grumpy Chirpi there. It shows you a music sheet and explains it needs other Aniimo to play the song, which starts the quest.

Fly Free! walkthrough

Once you speak with the Grumpy Chirpi, you become a flying Chirpi. Your initial task is to locate a Cornet that wants to become part of the group.

Follow the marker to the ancient stone archways and speak with the High-Pitched Cornet and Soprano Cornet. They bicker and act reluctant at first, but both agree to join in the end.
Use the following marker to reach the top of a tall, ruined pillar, then speak with the Distracted Tromber. Invite it to enlist with the Windgliders; it accepts and flies toward the practice site.

Go to the practice marker and rehearse with the Windgliders. After showing them the score, you pick how each line should be sung. The choice does not matter, because the game locks you into the correct answer regardless.

For reference, the intended pairings in the first rehearsal are:

  • “Ride the wind, soar through the sky.” — Chirpi, sing it in a soft, airy way.
  • “Fly across the sea—what lies beyond?” — Tromber, sing it wide and free.
  • “Careful past the smoking mountain, the big one’s angry again!” — Cornet, sing it with a hint of curiosity.
Twine with a Chirpi again and talk to the Windgliders. They explain the rehearsal is missing a basso voice and that they need a larger gull to handle it. This is your cue to bring in a Tubster.

Make sure you have a Tubster in your team, then Twine with it. If you do not own one, catch or deploy a Tubster before continuing. Talk to the Windgliders again while controlling the Tubster.
Next, let the Tubster experience freedom. Head to the marker and select any dialogue response, causing the Tubster to leap from the cliff. Resume the conversation afterward, and it chooses to continue practicing the song.
Return to the rehearsal for the final performance. You are given another set of line choices, and again the pick is up to you. The intended pairings are listed below.
  • “Fly away! See the horizon in every Chirpi’s eyes!” — Chirpi, bold and passionate.
  • “Fly away! Outrun the tides to distant skies!” — Tromber, with determination.
  • “Soar onward! Put earlier days behind you (new realms appear)!” — Cornet, brimming with hope.
Watch the cutscene where the full band, including the Tubster on bass, performs together. The flock of gulls gathers by the giant blooming flower and the Bell of Freedom blooms.
Use Twine on the Tubster, then speak with the Windgliders. At the Bell of Freedom, interact with Freedom’s Breeze to collect it and complete Fly Free!

The story connects Fly Free! to Alpha Tubster, but its objectives never require a fight against it. A Tubster only has to be in your party for the basso role.

Fly Free! rewards

Completing the quest hands over currency, crafting materials, and the two score items tied to the Windgliders’ song. Freedom’s Breeze itself is an Epic Mission Item, a legendary perfume made by Zephyro using the Bell of Freedom as its main ingredient.
