Aniimo Fragrant Colors Quest Guide: Prerequisites and Sea of Flowers Route

Clear Elite Training Chapter 1, reach level 25, promote to Intermediate Student, then finish every Sea of Flowers objective.

Clear Elite Training Chapter 1, reach level 25, promote to Intermediate Student, then finish every Sea of Flowers objective.

Fragrant Colors is the lore quest that ends Aniimo’s first chapter and opens the road to Lumenfly Valley. It stalls for most players at the same place, because the quest log hands you three progression gates before it hands you a single objective marker. One of those gates is catching and reporting 30 Aniimo in total, and it is the slowest of the set if you have been catching without ever uploading your results.

Quick answer: Fragrant Colors only advances after you clear Elite Training Chapter 1, reach level 25, and promote to Intermediate Student. After that, catch an Iris and a Flutternym and defeat Alpha Irisal in the Sea of Flowers.

Fragrant Colors unlock requirements

The quest is picked up in the Sea of Flowers, a Breezy Plains area that spans levels 19 to 28. Before the story moves, the log lists three conditions:

  • Complete the required Elite Training Chapter 1 tasks.
  • Reach player level 25.
  • Promote to Intermediate Student.

Elite Training Chapter 1 sits under Core Courses in the Elite Training menu and asks for four completed tasks out of the following list. Most of them point at the Forest of Falling Stars, which covers levels 18 to 25 and is the natural place to grind toward the level gate at the same time.

TaskWhere
Go to the Bloom FestivalBloomville
Activate the BloomForest of Falling Stars
Catch 1 Eko and 1 PomeggForest of Falling Stars
Level 2 Aniimo up to level 25Anywhere
Catch and report 30 Aniimo in totalAny Outpost console

Earn the Bronze Collection BadgeForest of Falling Stars

Bronze and Silver Collection Badges pay out Safari EXP, so the badge task and the level 25 requirement feed each other if you clear an area properly instead of running straight to the marker.

Catch and report 30 Aniimo in total

Catching is only half of this task. The counter moves when you upload your catch data at an Outpost Research Console, so a full party of fresh captures does nothing for Elite Training until it is submitted. The fastest loop is to catch in bulk, then use the menu shortcut that teleports you to the nearest Outpost.

Open the main menu and go into the Aniilog. Select Submit Report, which teleports you straight to the nearest Outpost instead of making you fast travel manually.

Interact with the Research Console at the Outpost and submit your recorded catch data. The console also advances your Breezy Plains research level, so submitting in large batches is never wasted.
Return to Elite Training, open Core Courses, and claim every completed task. Claim the Chapter One completion reward, then select Title Promotion to start the next gate.

Promote to Intermediate Student (Grade II)

Title Promotion queues the Growth Story quest Dewdrop Crystals of the Sea of Flowers, followed by a call from Dr. Lewis. The promotion has two halves, a practical assessment against Senior Wally and a theory exam back at the Outpost.

Answer Dr. Lewis’s call, open the world map, and fast travel to the Bloomville waypoint in the Sea of Flowers. Wally is marked on the map, standing in the lavender fields.
Talk to Wally and examine the glowing clues scattered around the flowers. Speak to him again once the observation phase ends, then call Dr. Lewis to report what you found about the Dewdrop Crystals.
Accept the level 25 assessment duel. Wally fields a 3v3 team built around Grass and Wind Aniimo, including Twirly, Leafy, and Gracewing, so bring types that counter those elements.

After the win, fast travel back to the Outpost and report to Dr. Lewis. He runs the Extra Theory Exam, a short multiple-choice test covering leveling methods, the Polaris Institute’s mission, and how Aniimo are discovered. Pick All of the Above for all three questions.

Passing the assessment promotes you to Grade II Student and raises the Aniimo level cap to 35. The results screen then points you at Unlock Talent, which hands over the active skills Gravity Pull and Mega Mallet plus the passive talent Boss Breaker. Gravity Pull is a Control skill with no EP cost and no cooldown, so it can sit in a rotation without competing for resources.

Claim the level 26 milestone rewards afterwards. Dr. Lewis introduces the Resonance Star-Up system at this point and walks you through a star-up on your starter.

Sea of Flowers objectives for Fragrant Colors

With the rank requirements satisfied, the quest updates to “Go to the Sea of Flowers.” Sunia and Nicole need Iris pollen and a Flutternym to prepare the incense that opens the Lumenfly Valley barrier, and each ingredient is its own objective.

Head for the windmill on the hill and catch a Flutternym. The game prompts you to dispel the Flutternyms’ disguises first, then you equip the Aniipod and aim at one of the flyers in the flower field.
Find the ring of colored Irises in the field and catch one. A successful throw registers No.011 Iris in your Aniilog and satisfies the “Own an Iris” objective.
Open Aniimo Management, select the Iris, and Twine with it. Walk back into the middle of the Iris circle in Iris form and lead the dance to talk with them and collect the pollen.
Follow the marker to the far end of the Sea of Flowers to find the Irisal. It ignores the party entirely, so the only way to get its attention is to start a fight. Beat the Level 27 Alpha Irisal and it hands over the pollen the incense needs.
Follow the next waypoint to the patch of white flowers where BINI detects an Energy Drain Zone, then let Sunia craft the fragrance. Run to the glowing barrier at Lumenfly Valley to close out the quest.

How to confirm Fragrant Colors is complete

Fragrant Colors does not show the usual end-of-quest screen, which is why a lot of players assume it is still running. The confirmation is the handover instead. Once the cutscene in front of the Lumenfly Valley barrier finishes, the log rolls straight into the new quest The Land of Dancing Illusions, with the objective to light the incense and open the barrier to Lumenfly Valley.

If that objective is on your tracker, the quest closed out correctly. From there the route continues into the valley itself, where you Twine with an Aniimo from the Flutternym family to travel deeper in.
