Some paths in Aniimo end at a wall of rock that shrugs off ordinary attacks. These are the Level 4 rock boulders, and they seal off Alpha Aniimo lairs, rare materials, and chests. Regular skills will not crack them. You need a partner with enough raw power behind a single heavy hit.
Quick answer: Twine with a Level 50 Grizbo and use its Head Hammer skill on the boulder. Below Lv. 50 the strike may not deal enough damage to break through.

What you need before breaking Level 4 rocks
The reliable tool for the job is Grizbo, a Rock-type Aniimo whose Head Hammer skill lands a powerful impact strong enough to shatter these boulders. The catch is the level requirement. Grizbo must be raised to Lv. 50 before the hit reliably clears a Level 4 wall. Attempt it with a lower-level Grizbo and the boulder is likely to hold.
Grizbo does not need to sit in your main combat party permanently. It only has to be available to Twine with when you reach a boulder, so you can hold off on the investment until you actually need to get past one.

You will know it worked the moment the boulder collapses and the route it blocked becomes walkable. If nothing shatters and the rock stays intact, your Grizbo is almost certainly below Lv. 50.
Where Level 4 rocks appear
The largest group is found among the snowy peaks of Rosetower Woods. There, boulders block the Alpha Grizbo lair along with several concealed areas. You can also find this kind of barrier in Beast Fang Ridge and other late-game zones. Nearby orange crystals or scorch marks usually indicate that the location requires a powerful attack.
Alternatives if you don’t have a Level 50 Grizbo
Grizbo is the cleanest solution, but it is not the only way through a Level 4 boulder. A few other options can save you the leveling grind, depending on what you already have.

Magmarex
This Fire Aniimo carries a T skill that can also destroy Level 4 rocks. Magmarex is rarer than Grizbo, though, and demands a similar level of investment to be useful, so it is not a shortcut so much as a second path.

Explosive barrels
Some rock piles have red explosive barrels beside them. Move a barrel onto the boulder with Gravity Pull, then set it off using a Fire Aniimo or fire arrow. The resulting explosion destroys the obstruction without requiring any Grizbo.
Tunneling Aniimo
Some rocks can be gone around rather than through. Budclaw and other Aniimo with tunneling abilities let you burrow under a wall to reach the area on the far side, which is handy when breaking the rock is not practical.
Cubbo
Grizbo’s base form usually will not hit hard enough for a Level 4 wall. If you are still running Cubbo, evolve it into Grizbo first before expecting it to break anything at this tier.

What’s behind Level 4 rocks
Clearing the boulders provides valuable rewards. It lets you reach Alpha Aniimo, including the Alpha Grizbo trapped beyond the barrier in Rosetower Woods. Alpha boss victories provide Aniimo Star-Up materials, rare items, and EXP. Chests located past those walls commonly contain Glimmer, Sparkling Crystals, and other useful resources.
Level 4 rocks are less a dead end and more a readiness check for late-game content. Once you have a Lv. 50 Grizbo on hand, or a barrel and a Fire Aniimo, they stop being a barrier and start marking the spots most worth exploring.
