Bolty is the squirrel-like Lightning Aniimo that darts between trees with golden sparks crackling off its tail. It sits at No. 045 in the Aniilog, fills the BREAK role, and is a Lumin stage creature, which means it still has an evolution ahead of it. There is only one place in the world where it lives.
Quick answer: Bolty spawns only in Blitzwood, the wooded area on the western side of the Breezy Plains map, at levels 40–45. Its base catch chance is 44%.

Bolty location: Blitzwood habitat and level range
Open the world map and look at Breezy Plains. Blitzwood is the autumnal woodland on the western side of that region, and every Bolty habitat square sits inside it. There is no second region to check and no alternative spawn zone, so if you are hunting one, Blitzwood is the whole search area.

Blitzwood holds 73 Bolty spawn points, spread across the woods rather than clustered in one clearing. Wild Bolty appear between level 40 and level 45, so bring a team that can survive that bracket before you commit to a catching run.
Zoom in once you are inside the treeline and match your yellow position marker against the yellow habitat squares. The squares tell you which pockets of the forest actually generate Bolty, which saves a lot of aimless running around the ruins and rock formations scattered through the area.

Bolty is active during the day and sleeps at night. Daytime runs give you moving targets that flee fast, while night gives you sleeping ones that are far easier to approach from behind.

Bolty is quick and skittish, and the Aniilog itself warns that they are difficult to catch. The numbers that decide your odds are fixed, and two of them are things you control in the fight.
| Catch modifier | Value |
|---|---|
| Base catch chance | 44% |
| BREAK state | ×1.5 |
| ×1.5 | |
| Sparkling variant | 1 in 20,000 |
Catching at night while Bolty sleeps avoids the chase entirely, since the golden lightning-dash it uses to flee is what makes daytime attempts so frustrating.
You will know it worked when Bolty is added to your roster and No. 045 fills in on the Aniilog page, with the Blitzwood habitat listed underneath. Each captured Bolty rolls one of two natures at even odds, Cheerful or Sensitive.
Bolty stats, trait, and skills
Bolty’s stat spread leans on BREAK, which matches its combat role, with a middling defensive profile that reflects its Lumin stage. The total sits at 450.
| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 85 | P.DEF | 60 | |
| 85 | M.DEF | 60 | |
| 87 | REGEN | 73 |
Its trait, Power Sustain, rewards critical hits. After its skills land six crits, Bolty enters the Overcharged state, immediately gains a shield equal to 5% of its HP, and every skill costs 12 less EP. The trade-off is that it cannot gain UP while Overcharged, and the state only lasts 6 seconds.
Both combat skills cost 20 EP and run on a 1-second cooldown.
| Skill | Element | EP cost | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electric | 20 | 48 | |
| Electric | 20 | 20 |
High-Voltage Dash sends Bolty charging into a target while electrified, and it doubles as its mobility skill in the field. It is the higher-damage option of the two.
Thunder Tail swings the electrified tail at targets ahead and grants 50% additional critical rate. Its raw power is low, but that crit bonus is the fastest route to the six critical hits Power Sustain needs.
Its innate attack is a close-range physical Lightning strike. Outside combat, Bolty brings Climb Lv.2 for pathfinding and High Jump for mobility, and its homeland abilities are Artisanship Lv.1 and Lightning Lv.1.
Evolving Bolty into Blazen
Bolty has one evolution, and it is gated behind a boss fight rather than a level alone. You have to defeat the Alpha Blazen first to unlock the evolution at all. The in-game clue points you toward the wood that calls lightning.

- Unlock condition: defeat the Alpha Blazen
- Level requirement: Bolty at level 33
- Location: Find it beneath Blitzwood’s Blitz Tree.
- Material: Roar Stone
All four conditions have to be true at once. Standing anywhere other than beneath the Blitz Tree will not trigger the evolution, even with the level and the stone in hand. Completing it moves Bolty from Lumin stage to Blazen.
Blazen’s own progression runs on Bolty Dewdrop Crystal and Roar Stone for Resonance Star-Up, so surplus Bolty captures are not wasted.
Mountain Woods Bolty, the alternate form
Bolty has a second form, Mountain Woods Bolty, listed as No. 45B. It is the same Lightning BREAK Aniimo with the same Power Sustain trait, the same two skills, and the same Blitzwood habitat. The difference is cosmetic in the Aniilog text, where its lighter golden-brown coat helps it avoid absorbing heat and blend into sunnier woodland.
Its catch chance is 50%, slightly friendlier than the basic form, and it evolves into Mountain Woods Blazen under identical conditions: Alpha Blazen defeated, level 33, and the Blitz Tree in Blitzwood.
Bolty field notes
Two field notes are tied to the species. Power Charging Fur unlocks by completing Sanctum: Electric Flow. Quick as Lightning asks you to photograph a Bolty as it flees in lightning form, which means catching the exact moment it bolts rather than stopping it. If you are already running daytime spawns in Blitzwood, that photo is worth lining up before you commit to the capture.
