Geodeback is the Rock-element BREAK Aniimo sitting at No. 073 in the Aniilog, and it is one of the more awkward catches in Breezy Plains. There is no open field where it wanders. The wild one lives behind a rock wall in Crystal Cave – Underground, in a chamber you cannot walk into — you have to burrow under it.
Quick answer: Twine with a Tunnel user like Shrubclaw, dig under the rock wall inside Crystal Cave – Underground, climb the ramp in the main chamber, and throw an Anipod Pro at the lone Lv. 18 Geodeback.
Geodeback spawn location in Breezy Plains
Crystal Cave – Underground sits in the Breezy Plains region, tucked between Nimbus Fields and The Argent Strait. The cave entrance itself is easy enough to walk into, but the part that matters is the upper chamber past a low crevice, and only one Geodeback spawns there.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Region | Breezy Plains |

| Nearby landmarks | Nimbus Fields, The Argent Strait |
| Wild level | Lv. 18 |

Pebblings roam the side rooms of the same cave system. They are the Lumin-stage form of the same line, so a spare capture there is not wasted.

Catching Geodeback: Anipod odds and weaknesses
Geodeback has a base catch rate of 42% at full HP with a standard Anipod. Throwing from behind, damaging it first, or breaking it all push the real number higher, so approaching the chamber from the rear of the spawn is worth the extra few seconds.
| Anipod | Multiplier | Chance at full HP |
|---|---|---|
| Anipod | ×1 | 42% |
| Anipod Pro | ×1.5 | 63% |
| Anipod Hyper | ×2 | 84% |
| Anipod Ultra | Guaranteed | 100% |
An Anipod Pro covers targets up to Lv. 25, which comfortably handles a Lv. 18 spawn. If you would rather soften it up first, Geodeback takes 1.6× damage from Water and Grass, and shrugs off Fire, Lightning, Ice, and Rock at 0.625×.

You will know the throw landed when the capture animation resolves into the “Completed Research” banner and Geodeback’s Aniilog entry at No. 073 fills in. The Aniimo then shows up in your roster with its own CP and stat block.
The Pebbling evolution route
If you cannot get to the cave chamber, or you missed the single spawn, the line still ends in the same place. Pebbling is the Lumin-stage form and is easy to find in the same cave, and it evolves into Geodeback at Lv. 38. That path is slower but guaranteed, and it leaves you with a Geodeback already deep into its level curve.

Pebbling branches. Raising one into Geodeback is a commitment, so catch a second Pebbling if you also want the Fire-Rock side of the family.
Geodeback stats, skills, and abilities
Geodeback is built around BREAK, which is its standout stat by a wide margin. Everything else is middling, and its M.DEF in particular is soft, so it wants to be the one cracking shields rather than absorbing magic damage.

| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| HP | 99 | P.DEF | 89 |
| ATK | 81 | M.DEF | 54 |
| BREAK | 102 | REGEN | 70 |
| Skill | EP cost | Power |
|---|---|---|
| Earth Spikes | 20 | 62 |
| Stone Shell | 10 | 30 |
Earth Spikes throws a line of stone spikes forward that pierces every target in the path, while Stone Shell is the cheap single-target option. Its innate attack is a close-range Rock hit that also carries the BREAK tag.
- Trait — Earth Affinity: while Tunneling, it can still cast skills and deals 30% extra BREAK.
- Mobility — Tunnel: burrows underground, granting immunity to ranged attacks while draining stamina. Pound skills can launch it back into the air.
- Homeland: Carry Lv. 2 and Earth Lv. 2.
That trait is the reason Geodeback pays off its own capture ability. Once you have one, it doubles as the Tunnel carrier for future cave detours, so the next hidden chamber does not require borrowing Shrubclaw.
