Jawling is the Wind-element, Break-role Lumin stage Aniimo that opens the Helmwhelp evolution line, and it lives in exactly one place. There is no egg workaround, no shop entry, and no quest reward version. If you want one, you go to the Russet Highlands and throw an Anipod at it.
Quick answer: Catch Jawling in the Russet Highlands, where it spawns at levels 46-51 regardless of time or weather. Approach from behind while it eats, then throw an Anipod Mega.
Where Jawling spawns in the Russet Highlands
The Russet Highlands is Jawling’s only habitat. Within it, two areas reliably hold a crowd rather than a lone straggler.
| Spot | Coordinates | Landmark | Levels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Southern Highlands field | -0431, 1659 | North of Alpha boss Rookey, beside a Bloom | 46-51 |
| Central Highlands | — | Open ground in the region’s middle | 46-51 |
Of the two locations, the southern one has the higher density. Pink flowers cover its grassy ground, and it lies immediately north of Alpha boss Rookey beside a Bloom, providing a quick teleport anchor for repeat runs. Multiple Jawlings appear there at the same time, letting you capture them consecutively without leaving the area.
Jawling spawns are not gated by the clock or the sky. The Aniilog entry confirms it appears at any time of day and under any weather condition, so there is no window to wait for.
If spawns feel thin, infuse Energy at the Branch of Breezy Plains to cultivate the area and raise appearance rates for specific Aniimo. The boosted creatures are chosen randomly, so you may get Helmuts instead of Jawlings.

Capture odds in Aniimo stack multiplicatively, and a wild Jawling in the mid-40s is soft enough that two stacked bonuses plus a good Anipod pushes the throw into guaranteed territory.

You will know it worked when the capture resolves without a struggle animation and Jawling is added to your roster. Opening the Aniilog afterwards shows entry No. 064 filled in, with its habitat and spawn conditions listed.

Jawling stats, skills, and trait
Jawling is a melee Break unit with a 407 base attribute total. It is not a damage carry, and its numbers reflect that.
| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| HP | 78 | P.DEF | 74 |
| ATK | 65 | M.DEF | 51 |
| BREAK | 76 | REGEN | 63 |
Its trait, Counter Strike, raises BREAK efficiency by 25% for 10 seconds after Jawling takes a hit. That pairs directly with its role, since the whole point of fielding it is stunning larger targets rather than out-damaging them.
- Wind Tackle (Wind, 45 power, 15 EP) — tackles and pushes small targets, and grants 15% damage reduction for 10 seconds.
- Overcharged Claw Strike (Wind, 68 power, 20 EP) — a single-target claw attack.
- ATK (Wind, 6 power) — the basic close-range wind attack.
- Bilateral — the mobility skill, which switches to an alternate viewing perspective.
Homeland abilities cover Carry and Wind, both at level 1. There is also a Mountain Form Jawling with the same Russet Highlands habitat, distinguished by a metallic jaw from chewing on metal ore.
Evolving Jawling into Helmwhelp, Helgon, or Infergon
Jawling evolves once at level 38, then branches at the second stage. The branch is where the requirements get demanding.

| Evolution | Level | Unlock condition | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 38 | None | None | |
| 48 | Open 30 Chests in the World cumulatively | Gust Stone x1 | |
| 48 | Defeat the Omega Infergon; Perfect potential rating | Blaze Stone x1 |
Helgon keeps the Wind element. Infergon flips the line to Fire, and it is the harder of the two by a wide margin, since only a Perfect-grade Jawling or Helmwhelp qualifies. Capture quality is fixed at the moment you catch the creature and cannot be upgraded afterwards, so the Infergon route means farming the Russet Highlands spawns until a Perfect one appears.
Check capture quality at the Report Terminal in Base Camp. Grades run Common, Good, Elite, and Perfect, and only Perfect unlocks the Infergon path.
Helmwhelp itself is a Wind Break Aniimo standing 1.6m and weighing 9kg, with 94 HP, 78 attack, and 88 defense. It also patrols the volcanic hillside where Omega Infergon sits, so the same region serves both the catching and the evolution unlock.
Research tasks worth completing while you farm
Since the Infergon route requires repeated captures anyway, the basic research entries clear themselves over the same grind.
- Catch this Aniimo x20
- Defeat this Aniimo x10
- Defeat this Aniimo using Lightning element skills x1
- Complete the evolution of this Aniimo x1
Special research tasks lean on Jawling’s behavior rather than combat. Dropping a rubber duck near one triggers a bite, and photographing a Jawling arguing with a Helmut covers another. Collecting both Basic and Mountain forms grants a permanent +1 Penetration bonus.
For most players, one good Jawling is enough to start the line and move on. For anyone chasing Infergon, the field north of Rookey is where you will be spending the next several hours, Anipod Megas in hand, checking the Report Terminal after every batch.
