Luminelle is a Lightning-type support Aniimo that buffs allies and heals teammates while they are on the field. Getting one comes down to two linked tasks: defeating the Alpha Luminelle in Tideblossom Coast, then evolving the Bulbly family up to the Luminelle stage.

Where Alpha Luminelle spawns in Tideblossom Coast
Alpha Luminelle appears in the boss arena in the southeastern part of Tideblossom Coast, on top of the mountain, south of the Tideblossom Coast Bloom fast-travel point. The zone sits around Lv. 54–61, and the Alpha itself is recommended for Lv. 60. It only shows up at night, and only if you actually watch it land.
The Alpha only spawns if you witness it landing. If you miss the impact, it bounces off and flies around the night sky until it decides to drop again. If you return later and the arena looks empty, that is not a bug; repeat the night-time wait to make the star fall once more.
How to beat Alpha Luminelle
Alpha Luminelle is a Lightning-element support boss. Earth and Rock-type Aniimo, such as Rockey, deal super-effective damage, so bring one as your main attacker. Its own attacks hit small areas around itself and can chip away at anything standing close, so ranged Aniimo let you keep distance while dodging.
The core mechanic is its charge. Over several stacks the Alpha reaches Fully Charged, then Power Overload, and finally unleashes a wide lightning Ultimate. Warning zones flash on the ground before each attack, so dodge in advance.
- When it summons Bulbly (five of them) to charge it, defeat every one before the charge completes to interrupt the Ultimate and break the Alpha instantly.
- Other Luminelles can contribute to its charge as well; defeating every one of them stops the charging process.
- Forcing the Alpha into BREAK clears all of its charge stacks.
- While in BREAK or BREAK Recovery, it takes greatly increased damage, so line up your Rock-type hits then.
Catching Alpha Luminelle
Defeating the Alpha begins a two-minute window to catch it, with just one try available. Catching it uses 30 energy, and an Alpha cannot be caught while Twined, so exit Twine mode first. Equip the most advanced Aniipod you own before the countdown ends.

Once you successfully catch it, the next Journey mission, “Is That a… Lighthouse?”, unlocks and directs you to speak with the Bubby seated at the cliff’s edge at night. For the evolution requirement alone, defeating the Alpha once is sufficient; catching it is unnecessary.

On repeat clears, the Alpha Chest drops materials like Star Dust and Star Sand. Every time you want to fight it again, you repeat the night-time cycle and wait for the shooting star to fall.
How to evolve Bulbly and Veilfloat into Luminelle
The Luminelle you keep in your party comes from the Bulbly evolution line, not from catching the Alpha. Bulbly and Veilfloat both spawn in large numbers along the coastal part of Tideblossom Coast at night, so farm them there first.

Converting Luminelle variants into the base form
Luminelle has two regional variants, and you can turn either one into the standard Luminelle if you prefer the base look. Use a Morph Orb and pick the “Change Form” option in the Aniimo Management box. Morph Orbs cost 300 Glimmer each in the Glimmer Shop.

Only one Rainstorm Luminelle appears per weather event, so if you miss it you must wait for the next rain or thunderstorm to try again.

Luminelle is the No. 79 Electric-type support unit. It leans on party buffs rather than raw damage, so it fits best on Lightning teams where its buffs matter most. Note that its heals only reach allies who are on the field, not off-field members.
