Somniwing is the butterfly-like Aniimo listed as No. 030 in the Aniilog. It is among the rare creatures that never appear in the wild: there is no spawn location, egg, or evolution route. Instead, you receive it for reaching a milestone, and its main purpose is to function as a battery for your squad.
Quick answer: Accumulate 180 points on Elite Training, take the phone call that follows, and talk with Dr. Lewis at the outpost to receive Somniwing.
How to get Somniwing: The 180-point Elite Training milestone
Elite Training is a permanent objective board, not a timed event, so its rewards do not expire. Somniwing is placed along its milestone path, while every tab contributes to one shared score. Pick whichever objectives best fit the way you already play.
- Core Courses — capture Aniimo and complete missions from the main story.
- Path of Twining — catch, collect, level, and train designated Aniimo.
- Path of Discovery — investigate the world, finish side quests, and complete sanctums.
- Path of Victory — win by taking down bosses and opposing Pathfinders.
- Path of Splendor — increase your RV rank and form friendships with other players.

This is a long grind, not a clever shortcut. The steps are simple, but 180 points means putting real hours into the game first.

The handoff from Dr. Lewis produces two updates: the Elite Training board records milestone 180 as complete, and Somniwing joins your roster under Aniilog number 030, with Mountain Woods Gracewing before it and Eko after it. It has a single stage and no variants, so you receive the finished form immediately and have no evolution step to perform.
Somniwing stats, element, and the Energy Full trait
As a Wind/Grass Aniimo, Somniwing carries the Regen role, and its numbers support that assignment. REGEN reaches 115, putting it near the top of the roster; Break and Attack are intentionally low. Base stats total 538.

| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 111 | P.DEF | 85 | |
| 92 | M.DEF | 85 | |
| 50 | REGEN | 115 |
The Energy Full trait adds 10 to maximum EP as soon as Somniwing joins the team. It does not have to be active for the effect to apply. Leaving it benched still gives the entire squad the increased EP limit.
The dual typing cuts both ways, and the weaknesses hurt in exactly the content where you want a support alive.
| Multiplier | Elements |
|---|---|
| 1.6x taken | Fire, Lightning, Light |
| 0.625x taken | Water, Grass, Earth |
| 1x taken | Ice, Wind, Dark |
For traversal it carries Fly Lv. 2 alongside Glide Lv. 2 and Sprint Lv. 2, which clears terrain most Aniimo cannot. The trade-off is that flying makes ranged attacks land harder against it.
Somniwing skills and what each one does
Its kit contains three combat skills, one innate Ultimate, and a ranged magic basic attack. Since only two skills can be equipped at once, the key choice is whether to prioritize energy support or crowd control.
| Skill | EP cost | Cooldown | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereal Light Wave | 0 | 15s | Team EP recovery |
| 10 | 1s | Chargeable damage | |
| 20 | 18s | Sleep and damage amp | |
| Ultimate | 20s | Team EP restore |
Ethereal Light Wave
This skill is the reason Somniwing deserves a roster slot. It has no cost, refreshes every 15 seconds, and sends a forward wave that absorbs hostile projectiles. Any ally the wave reaches also gains faster EP recovery for 20 seconds. The bonus is determined by Somniwing’s REGEN, making that stat your primary investment.

Hypnotic Spores
A successful hit from Hypnotic Spores inflicts Sleeping for 5 seconds and makes the target receive 25% more damage. Activation uses 20 EP and then waits through an 18-second cooldown. Because any damage immediately ends the sleep, use the move to create an opening or as an emergency button—not as a buff to maintain throughout a full rotation.

Grass-type Aniimo ignore Hypnotic Spores completely because they are immune to Sleeping.
Energy Orb
Energy Orb gathers a ball of energy above the target and drops it. Holding the skill button charges it, and every 0.6 seconds of charge spends 10 Energy for a bigger hit, up to four times. The five stages deal 1x, 2x, 3x, 4.5x, and 6x Might, so a full charge is worth six uncharged taps. With 30 power, a 10 EP cost, and a 1-second cooldown, it is the only real damage in the kit.

Butterfly Dance (Ultimate)
On a 20-second cooldown, Somniwing takes flight and restores EP for the entire party, with the restoration amount based on REGEN. It nearly tops everyone off, so using it while above half EP wastes much of its value. Wait until the rotation runs out of fuel, then use Ethereal Light Wave between casts.

Best Somniwing build: skills, stats, personality, and held item
Equip Ethereal Light Wave and Energy Orb as the active skills and reserve the Ultimate slot for Butterfly Dance. Bring Hypnotic Spores instead when reliable crowd control is required, but the free recurring EP boost is generally better than sleep that ends with the first hit.
The uneven attribute spread is intentional. Somniwing remains active for only a few seconds per rotation, leaving offense and Break with little practical value.
| Stat | Priority |
|---|---|
| REGEN | ★★★★★ |
| ★★★ | |
| Break / Attack | ★ |
| P.DEF / M.DEF | ★ |
Aim for the ISTJ personality. On a dedicated support, the important letters are I and J, so the roll need not be perfect if it contains both. Assign potential points to Energy.
Choose the Legendary Spirited Feather as its held item. The base effect supplies 0.7 additional REGEN per level; Tier 1 grants REGEN +2; and Tier 2 cuts cooldowns by 10%, with that reduction doubling when REGEN exceeds 15. If unavailable, use Auspicious Bell for REGEN and a 20% chance to recover 5 EP each time a skill is used.
Do not take the held item contract. Its enhanced Ethereal Light Wave returns only 5 EP to Somniwing, making the material cost a poor trade.
Best Somniwing teams and rotation
Add Somniwing to teams where the damage dealer spends EP more quickly than it can regenerate, or where a lengthy setup is needed before a burst window. Energy Full remains active from the bench, and both EP tools take only seconds to use, so the carry loses very little field time.
| Team | Other three members |
|---|---|
| Helion burst | Helion, Turbo, Prismana Glacy |
| Lunara burst | Lunara, Rookey, Turbo |
| Sherro burst | Sherro, Panpanta, Prismana Glacy |
| Scorchhowl burst | Scorchhowl, Inferlupa, Sparkelf |
| Inferlupa break | Inferlupa, Scorchhowl, Sparkelf |
| Fulmintis criticals | Fulmintis, Blazen, Luminelle |
| Glynsera criticals | Glynsera, Geoclaw, Prismana Glacy |
Keep the sequence deliberately brief. Have the other supports establish their buffs or debuffs first, let the DPS complete its damage string, and bring Somniwing out once EP begins to run low. Use Ethereal Light Wave with the wave crossing your allies, activate Butterfly Dance when EP is under half, then immediately rotate back out.
Somniwing Homeland jobs
When Somniwing is off the active team, it still earns its keep at home. Its Homeland abilities are Grass Lv. 4, Leisure Lv. 4, and Wind Lv. 3, so it can plant seeds, gather resources, and help produce items at facilities including Farmland, Woodland, the Floral Windmill, and the Carousel Mill. Grass is its strongest assignment by a clear margin.

That division captures Somniwing’s overall role. Its low Break and Attack values make it unsuitable for carrying battles. Even so, a support that increases the entire team’s EP limit from the bench and restores that resource in two seconds while active earns the 180 points required for its unlock.
