Flutternym’s Mountain Woods Form is the orange-winged version of the butterfly Aniimo, and it is one of the easier regional variants to add to the Aniilog. It only lives in two habitats inside Breezy Plains, it spawns in groups, and there is no story gate or Alpha fight standing between you and a capture.

Quick answer: Catch a wild one in the orange-leaf woodland of Beast Fang Ridge or Blitzwood in Breezy Plains. Base catch chance is 50%, and it appears during both day and night.

Flutternym Mountain Woods Form spawn locations

Both habitats sit in Breezy Plains. If you have already caught any Flutternym, open its Aniilog entry and select Habitats to drop yellow spawn markers straight onto the world map, which saves you sweeping the zone by eye.

Beast Fang Ridge

This is the fastest option if you are still early in Breezy Plains, since the Aniimo here sit in the low thirties. Fly along the tree line and the paths cutting through the valley. Flutternyms hover in the open at roughly chest height rather than hiding, and they usually appear several at a time, so one lap is normally enough for a full set of attempts.

Blitzwood

Blitzwood holds the higher-level population, and the variant is far easier to find here than the standard blue Flutternym. Head for the patch of orange trees toward the middle of the zone. The wings are the same shade as the fallen leaves on the ground, so look for movement instead of colour, then check the nameplate before you commit.

How to catch it and confirm the registration

Base capture chance on a wild Flutternym Mountain Woods Form is 50%. Two multipliers stack on top of that, and both are worth setting up because the creature has only 94 HP and 41 BREAK, so it folds quickly.

  • Putting it into BREAK applies a ×1.5 multiplier to the catch.
  • Landing a backstab also applies a ×1.5 multiplier.
  • It sleeps at night, which makes approaching from behind far simpler.
  • Sparkling versions appear at a rate of 1 in 20,000.

You will know the catch counted when the Aniilog registers the Mountain Woods Form as its own entry, separate from the standard Flutternym. Registering it pays out Research Points ×50 and Safaris ×150 once, and reporting the discovery adds 100 Credits. A Sparkling version of the same form pays another 50 Research Points on top.

Wind of Regeneration: The skill this form unlocks

The real reason to hunt this variant is the skill attached to it. Discovering either Flutternym Mountain Woods Form or Gracewing Mountain Woods Form unlocks Wind of Regeneration, which then becomes selectable across the species. It costs 20 EP, runs on a 20-second cooldown, and grants allies in the target area a shield worth 12% of the caster’s Max HP for 20 seconds.

That gives a Flutternym a pre-emptive option rather than pure reactive healing, which matters because the rest of its kit is built around healing over time. Every form of the species works this way, so a single catch permanently widens what the whole line can do.

Flutternym Mountain Woods Form stats and skills

Mountain Woods is a Lumin stage Aniimo in the Heal role, with both Wind and Earth elements rather than the base form’s single element. It is 0.5 m tall and weighs 6 kg. When it enters battle as the active Aniimo, its Flutter Heal trait increases healing by 20%. While off-field, it takes the form of a phantom and restores 0.5% of max HP each time another Aniimo uses a skill or Ultimate.

Its combat options cover healing, shielding and cleansing:

  • Wind of Rejuvenation (Wind, 20 EP, 20s) — heals the team for 9% of the caster’s Max HP over 8 seconds, with extra healing for Wind Aniimo.
  • Wind of Regeneration (Earth, 20 EP, 20s) — area shield worth 12% of the caster’s Max HP for 20 seconds.
  • Purifying Dance (Grass, 20 EP, 15s) — clears all debuffs nearby, then raises EP recovery by 20% for 10 seconds.
  • Healing Dance (Grass, 20 EP, 20s) — team heal over 8 seconds plus BREAK damage reduction inside the area.
  • Phantom Dance (Dark, 20 EP, 15s) — self-cleanse, with an off-field Gracewing cleansing the active teammate automatically.

Healing Dance and Phantom Dance are tied to the Sea of Flowers and Nighttime forms respectively, so catching the Mountain Woods variant alone will not put them on the list.

Its exploration abilities are Fly Lv. 1 and Luminous Prowl; the latter surrounds it with pink mist and puts it into the Cloak state. It has no Ultimate.

How to evolve it into Gracewing

The Mountain Woods Form evolves into the matching Gracewing, moving it from Lumin to Nova stage. Three conditions have to line up at once.

Gracewing

Raise the Flutternym to Aniimo level 21. Nothing will trigger below that threshold, no matter where you stand.
Have a Gust Stone in your inventory. The evolution consumes Gust Stone x1.
Perform the evolution while you are inside Beast Fang Ridge or Blitzwood. The location requirement is unique to this form, and the other Flutternym variants do not have it.

Other Mountain Woods Form Aniimo in the same zones

Both habitats carry other regional variants, so it is worth clearing them in one trip rather than returning later.

Iris (Mountain Woods Form)Grass / DPSBeast Fang Ridge, Berylline Vale
Bolty (Mountain Woods Form)Electric / BREAKBlitzwood

Iris shares the Beast Fang Ridge valley with Flutternym at Lv 30–35, with a second population in Berylline Vale at Lv 40–47. Its habitat markers cover most of the open grass, so you can chain both captures in a single sweep.

On the ground the Iris groups sit out on the grassy hillsides rather than under tree cover, which makes them a much shorter hunt than the leaf-coloured Flutternyms nearby.

Bolty’s Mountain Woods Form keeps to the eastern side of Blitzwood among the orange grass, identifiable by its lighter, golden-brown coat next to the standard version.

Because the spawns are dense and ungated, the slowest part of the whole process is usually getting to Breezy Plains in the first place. Once you are there, one catch registers the form, banks the research rewards, and permanently hands Wind of Regeneration to every Flutternym and Gracewing you own.
