Nimbi has several regional coats in Aniimo, and the Rainstorm Form is the dark blue one that carries lightning in its wool. It shares an Aniilog number with the standard Nimbi (No. 17B) but counts as its own entry, and it is the only version of the species that adds the Electric element on top of Wind. Getting one is not about rarity rolls or a quest chain. It is purely a weather condition.

Quick answer: Rainstorm Nimbi only spawns in Nimbus Fields while it is raining or storming. Travel there during rainy weather and herds appear across the grasslands alongside the normal white Nimbi.
Rainstorm Nimbi spawn conditions
Three things have to line up, and only one of them is under your control:
- You are in Nimbus Fields, in the Breezy Plains region. No other zone spawns this form.
- The local weather is Rainy or a thunderstorm. Clear or sunny weather produces the standard Nimbi instead.
- You are looking in open grassland rather than indoors or under cover, since the herds graze out in the fields.
Open the world map and check the weather readout for Nimbus Fields before you commit to the trip. When it shows Rainy, the form is live in the zone.

The in-game forecast and time indicators are not always reliable. If the map says one thing and you are unsure, fast travel into Nimbus Fields and look at the sky yourself before writing the attempt off.

Once rain starts, the form is not hidden away in a single corner. Herds spawn across the grassy hills, and you can sweep them on a mount without much searching. A documented spawn point sits at -1131, 0722, which is a reliable place to start if you want to skip the wandering.

Telling the forms apart is easy at a glance. The standard Nimbi is white with pale blue shading, while the Rainstorm Form is a dark, storm-cloud blue. Both spawn side by side in the rain, so check the colour before you start a capture rather than relying on the nameplate, which reads simply “Nimbi” for either one.
The same weather also brings out the Rainstorm Form of Turbo, Nimbi’s evolution, at roughly -1132, 0719. If you are already out in the rain, it is worth grabbing both in the same run.
How to confirm you caught the right form
After a successful capture, check the Aniilog. Rainstorm Nimbi registers as its own entry, No. 17B, separate from the base Nimbi at 17A and Cloudmist at 17C, so a newly filled 17B slot is your confirmation. The entry text for this form reads that absorbing water changes the colour of their fur and makes it conductive, letting it hold lightning inside.
You also get a one-time release reward of Growth Bud x3 for it, plus 100 Credits for filing the report.
Rainstorm Nimbi stats, elements, and role
Rainstorm Nimbi is a Lumin Stage Support with Wind and Electric elements, and it can Fly for pathfinding. Its base numbers lean towards sustain rather than damage.
| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80 | Magic Attack | 84 | |
| 84 | Magic Defense | 82 | |
| Defense | 69 | BP Attack | 43 |
| EP Regen | 93 |
That 93 EP Regen is the standout number and the reason it works as a support that fires skills back to back rather than a finisher. Damage output is low, so pair it with a dedicated attacker. It takes heavily reduced damage from Wind attacks and increased damage from Rock, which is the one matchup to plan around.
Skills and the Shrouded in Mist trait
Everything this form does runs through its trait. Shrouded in Mist builds one stack each time it lands a basic attack or spends five seconds off the field, and at four stacks it enters the Shrouded in Mist state. Casting any skill then spends that state to upgrade the skill’s effect, so the rhythm is to bank stacks first and cast second.
| Skill | Element | EP cost | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electric | 10 | 8s | |
| Wind | 20 | 20s |
Thunder Bolt throws projectiles made of thundercloud. Cast it while Shrouded in Mist and the projectiles detonate on impact for damage equal to 120 percent Might and apply Paralysis.
Cloud Shield wraps Nimbi in a shield that absorbs damage up to 15 percent of max HP and cuts stamina use by 15 percent for 20 seconds. Under Shrouded in Mist, the shield absorbs up to 19 percent of max HP instead.
Cloud Orb lobs a condensed cloud missile, and in the Shrouded in Mist state it bursts into a larger explosion dealing damage equal to 180 percent Might. Outside combat, the mobility skill Puff Up gives a higher jump and one mid-air dash, which is genuinely useful for traversal.
Evolving Rainstorm Nimbi into Turbo
Rainstorm Nimbi evolves into Turbo, moving from Lumin Stage to Nova Stage. Three requirements gate it: the Aniimo must reach level 21, you need to defeat the Alpha Turbo, and you need Gust Stone x1. Alpha Turbo is a field boss in Nimbus Fields, found around -1041, 0737.

Since the rainy-weather spawn also produces Rainstorm Turbo directly, you can skip the evolution entirely if all you want is the storm-coloured Turbo in your collection.
Nimbi keeps two other coats worth tracking, Cloudmist and Plateau, and each registers separately in the Aniilog. But none of them need what Rainstorm needs, which is simply patience with the weather. If Nimbus Fields is clear when you arrive, go do something else and come back.
