Aniimo: How to Get the Plateau Nimbi Form in Driftwise Meadow

Plateau Nimbi is the fourth cataloged form of Nimbi in Aniimo, filed under Aniilog entry No. 17D. Unlike the Basic, Rainstorm, and Cloudmist forms, it does not live in Nimbus Fields at all, which is why players working through the early Breezy Plains content often finish the rest of the set and stall on this one.

Quick answer: Plateau Nimbi spawns only in Driftwise Meadow in the Breezy Plains. No weather or time-of-day condition applies — travel there and catch one with your usual Aniipod method.

Plateau Nimbi location and level requirements

Driftwise Meadow sits in the Breezy Plains region, but it is far tougher than the starting zones where the other Nimbi forms appear. Its encounter levels sit in the high 40s to mid 50s depending on the part of the meadow you are standing in, so a mid-teens party built for Nimbus Fields will not survive long enough to line up a catch.

Driftwise Meadow itself has 40 chests, 3 Lumin Amber, 2 blooms, 7 ecological points, 1 Lumin collection, 3 pathfinder challenges, and 1 transporter, so the trip is worth clearing properly rather than treating as a single catch run. The transporter is the one to unlock first, since it removes the long overland approach on every repeat visit.

How to catch Plateau Nimbi

Open the map and travel to Driftwise Meadow in the Breezy Plains. If you have already activated the transporter there, use it; otherwise you will need to reach the meadow on foot from the neighboring Breezy Plains routes.
Check the map overlay for the yellow grid sections that mark wild Aniimo spawn zones. Those blocks narrow the search down considerably instead of sweeping the whole meadow.
Walk the open grassland and look for the pale blue cloud shapes drifting above the flowers. Nimbi travel in small groups, so a single sighting usually means several more nearby.

Approach one and use your normal catching routine. Because they gather in groups, a failed attempt does not mean a return trip — search the surrounding grass for another member of the herd.
Open the Aniilog and check entry No. 17D. A filled 17D slot is the confirmation that the catch registered as the Plateau form and not another variant.

Completing all four Nimbi forms in the Aniilog grants a small Constitution bonus on the entry, so it is worth catching the Plateau form even if you do not plan to field it.

Plateau Nimbi stats, role, and elements

Plateau Nimbi fills the Support role at the Lumin stage and uses Wind and Ice. Ice is what functionally separates it from the Basic and Cloudmist versions, which use only Wind, as well as Rainstorm, which combines Wind with Electric. Since its attacks are ranged magic, keep it behind the front line rather than placing it at the front.

For noncombat abilities, it has Fly Lv.1 in Pathfinding and Puff Up for mobility; the latter increases jump height and provides one airborne dash. At the Homeland, it supplies Leisure, Ice, and Wind abilities, each at Lv. 1.

Shrouded in Mist and the three combat skills

Every skill in the kit is built around one trait. Shrouded in Mist gains a stack after Plateau Nimbi sits off the field for 5 seconds or lands a basic attack. At 4 stacks it enters the Shrouded in Mist state, and casting a skill spends that state to upgrade what the skill does. The practical read is simple — build to four, then fire the skill you actually want boosted rather than dumping the first one off cooldown.

Cloud Orb throws a condensed cloud missile with 30 power. Enhanced, it detonates in a larger explosion for damage equal to 180% Might, which makes it the highest-value place to spend a full Mist state when you only want damage.

Thunder Bolt tosses thundercloud projectiles for 30 power. With the Mist state active the projectiles explode on impact for 120% Might and apply Paralysis to the targets, so this is the pick when you need control rather than raw numbers.

For defense, use Cloud Shield: in its normal state, it cuts stamina consumption by 15% for 20 seconds and can absorb damage up to 15% of max HP. Switching to Mist raises that absorption cap to 19% max HP.

Evolving Plateau Nimbi at Level 21

Nimbi can evolve at Level 21, with Turbo and Dreaple serving as its two available branches. Only Turbo is available to the Plateau form. Rainstorm and Cloudmist follow that same restriction, while Basic alone can use the Dreaple route.

  • Defeat an Alpha Turbo before the evolution becomes available.
  • Raise your Plateau Nimbi to Level 21.
  • Supply Gust Stone x3 to finish the evolution.

The result skips the Gamma stage entirely and lands at Nova stage. Turbo can also be caught outright in Nimbus Fields, so evolving is not the only route to one.

An individual Nimbi is limited to one evolution path. To record Plateau Nimbi in the Aniilog while also obtaining a Nova-stage result, catch another Nimbi and keep the first one unevolved.

Because Driftwise Meadow gates the form behind a level jump rather than a weather timer or a quest flag, the only real barrier is party strength. Clear the meadow once your team can handle low-50s encounters, unlock the transporter while you are there, and the Plateau form becomes a routine stop rather than a long expedition.
