Aniimo: How to Get Tuckin by Evolving Hummin

The Omega Tuckin fight, the Level 18 requirement, and the 20-second Dig In that unlocks the evolution.

The Omega Tuckin fight, the Level 18 requirement, and the 20-second Dig In that unlocks the evolution.

Tuckin never spawns in the wild. The only way to add the Grass-element Break Aniimo to your roster is to raise a Hummin and clear a very specific set of conditions in the Mistwoods, one of which is easy to walk right past because it happens underground.

Quick answer: Defeat Omega Tuckin in the Mistwoods, then hold a Level 18 Hummin’s Dig In skill for 20 seconds at the entrance to Sanctum: Twisted Roots, and evolve it.

Tuckin evolution requirements

Three conditions appear in the evolution menu, and all three have to be green before the button becomes usable:

  • A Hummin at Level 18 or higher.
  • Omega Tuckin defeated.
  • Dig In held for 20 seconds at the entrance of Sanctum: Twisted Roots.
  • Sprout Stone in your inventory to pay the evolution cost.

The dig condition is tied to the individual creature, not to your account. Every extra Hummin you want to turn into a Tuckin has to be brought back to the same spot and dug in again.

Where to catch Hummin

Hummin is a common Lumin stage Aniimo and it roams several regions, so you rarely have to hunt for long. Its habitats are Nimbus Fields, the Mistwoods, The Argent Strait, Forest of Falling Stars, and Blitzwood.

The most convenient patch sits in Nimbus Fields in Breezy Plains, around coordinates -1160, 0783, where they graze in open grass in small groups. Throw an Anipod Pro to capture one, then level it to 18 before you head for the Mistwoods.

Defeat Omega Tuckin in the Mistwoods

The evolution path stays locked until Omega Tuckin goes down. You fight it once during the main story, and the repeatable arena version becomes available after you finish the Binding Oath side quest.

Its arena sits in the Mistwoods at roughly -0929, 1187, marked on the map as Twisted Roots. Walk up to the cluster of blue flowers and a Level 50 Omega Tuckin tears itself out of the ground to start the fight. Bring a team that can handle a boss at that level, because it has a deep health pool and hits hard in close range.

Dig In for 20 seconds at Sanctum: Twisted Roots

This is the part people miss. The sanctum door is not in the arena itself, it is in the cave directly underneath it, at approximately -0928, 1183.

Return to the Tuckin arena in the Mistwoods and drop down into the open cave below the platform. Gliding down is the quickest route.
Walk to the Enter Sanctum portal until the interaction prompt appears. You do not need to go inside. Stand on the platform directly in front of the door.
Twine with the Hummin you want to evolve so it is the active Aniimo, then use its Dig In movement skill and stay rooted in the ground for a full 20 seconds without moving.
Wait for the on-screen notification that a remarkable change is about to happen. That message is your confirmation the timer registered.

Complete the evolution and confirm it worked

Open your Aniimo list, select the Hummin, and go into the evolution screen. All three criteria should now be ticked off, and the Tuckin branch will be selectable alongside the Hexxin branch that Hummin can also take.

Pay the Sprout Stone cost and confirm. The evolution cinematic plays, and you end up with a Nova Stage Tuckin registered as No. 22A in the Aniilog. If the Tuckin option is still greyed out, the dig timer did not complete for that particular Hummin, so go back to the sanctum door and hold Dig In again.

Mountain Hummin digs somewhere else

The orange-red regional variant does not use the sanctum at all. Mountain Hummin, found in the Sea of Flowers and Berylline Vale, still needs Level 18 and a defeated Omega Tuckin, but its dig has to happen at the great mud pit at Berylline Vale instead. It also costs Sprout Stone and produces Mountain Tuckin, a Grass and Earth hybrid, rather than the standard form.

Almost everything Tuckin does depends on the little Hummin it summons through its Prank Master trait, which also scales Break damage with max HP. The trait fires when Tuckin attacks a target rather than the moment you switch to it, so land a hit first or your skills will have nothing to teleport around.

Off-Key Shock Wave and Noisy Strikes both warp every summoned Hummin next to the enemy for a tackle, and with a one-second cooldown they are what you spam to Break a target. Haunting Choir swaps the tackle for a sonic hit that stuns for one second. Breaking Roar restores the Hummin count to its maximum and then fires a shockwave, which makes it a reasonable opener.

Draw Nourishment roots Tuckin in place, instantly restores 50 percent HP to all Hummins, heals Tuckin and nearby Hummins for 2 percent HP per second, and grants 20 percent Break efficiency. Tuckin can keep casting its other skills while rooted, so it holds a position without giving up damage.

Outside combat, Tuckin carries Carry and Grass abilities at Level 3, so a spare one is useful back at the Homeland for planting seeds, gathering, and hauling produce to storage. That makes a second or third dig trip worth the walk, even if your first Tuckin is already on the team.
